Dude, you drive a hatchback, which is the exact same design philosophy on a smaller scale. :P

We had a talk about this at the old place. I consider my 5-door hatchback to be more of an evolved station wagon. :D

Station wagons are just as bad as minivans.

I would own a large vehicle if I had a shorter commute to work.

Username checks out.
I actually do own a truck, it's just not worthy of traveling more than 20 miles away from home. 97 dodge Cummins 12v

My wife gives me **** for always looking for an end spot wherever we park. Didn’t find one the other day, and the knuckledragger who parked next to me slammed their door into mine.

That’s why.
Life is less stressful when you don't care about your car. Lol

That's not much different than a buddy of mine who has a wife and no kids, and also owns an Expedition.
I'm 5' 7ish and I would never consider something that size. Not just size, but the clearance into the garage is also an obstacle.

Probably going to test drive an Outback tonight after work. Found one in the color that I like that is 10 min from the office, so I figure it's at least worth the trip for the test drive.

I work right next door to a luxury car wholesaler. Every day, multiple trucks roll in with brand new luxury cars--they take them in, detail them, and then prepare them for sale. On my daily constitutional I walked by a brand new McLaren 570s...price tag, $228k

The Mythbusters could duck tape that thing back together and have it running in a few days.

I was behind a McLaren in the North Hills yesterday, near McCandless Crossing. Talk about a sharp car.

If it was a gray 12C Spyder I saw it coming out of a driveway in the woods in Fox Chapel not to long ago.

I've seen that one a couple times. There's a random car dealership on 19 by Bairel Subaru that has a 12c and what I think is a Ferrari 308 sitting outside as well.

A minivan is basically your way of telling the world that you've checked out emotionally and are a dead husk of a man.
What does it mean when you put the stick figure family on it?

Mine was free so I'm not all that mad. I'm guessing you have a Jeep?

One thing that is annoying with the car discussion online is everyone constantly screaming about how buying a new car is a terrible investment. Why does everything have to be an "investment"? Maybe we're just purchasing it because we can, and we want a new car?

Haven't new cars become relatively more cost effective with how used car sales have skyrocketed over the recent years? I've bought two used cars recently, and anytime I went to a dealership it was take it or leave it. No haggling, no fixing a broken cruise control, nothing.

When I buy a new car for the first time this summer, I plan on driving it until it is just about dead. In today's age, cars are very capable of getting to 200k miles without any major issues. I don't really feel guilty about dropping $30k or so on a brand new car that I will be driving for 10+ years. I get that buying a certified pre-owned car (vs. used) makes the most financial sense, but whatevs.

BTW, I am taking a hard look at the Honda CRV Touring Edition. I am really falling in love with the compact SUVs.
