So my FIL just went and bought a 69 Nova Yenko Tribute. Fully restored. 427ci 4 speed. Hugger orange. Gets delivered next week from Illinois.
Stupid financial decision but not my money.

I bet that cost at least $1000. Too rich for my blood.

40k, unless he's lying more.

That looks awesome. And 40k seems decent to me for that.

Oh yeah. If they price this to my liking, I'm getting one.

How are you going to fit in that tiny door?
Not bothering to have door handles helps hide that it's a four-door.

I think it looks cool for what it is. Kind of an elongated FR-S. Or even a better take on the new Supra.

I'd rather have the Nova.

It all comes down to price. I love what I see, but if they price it where I think they may, I'll have to walk. I'm not thrilled about the lack of specifics in terms of the powerplant, though. 3 liter turbo, but zero stats on the power. Available next spring, which means they won't release any details until winter.

My assumption is that it'll go between $55k-60k. If they offer it below $50k, I'm in. Just won't tell my wife what I paid.$60K?It all comes down to price. I fell in a YouTube wormhole with the guy that pulled that Cadillac out of a field somewhere in this thread. Really cool stuff.
The wormhole led me to look for old muscle cars.
Should I spend $38K on a 2020 Honda Pilot and stay married? Or do I spend $38K on a 1968 Buick GS California and move back in with my parents?

I'm thinking of buying a variable speed polisher to take some minor swirls and scratches out of the paint on my Jeep. Anyone have experience with such a project? I'm used to doing everything by hand but after 8 years and 115K miles, it needs a little bit more work. I'm mainly curious about the various polishes, pads, etc.

I've used this one with good results. Got too old to do the hand polishing stuff.
I also used the Chemical Guys pads like these. Really nice results with this stuff.
For polishes I like the Meguiars and Chemical Guys stuff.

Has anyone ever purchased a new car through a manufacturer "affiliate program"? My wife's job purchases tons of FCA vehicles, mostly Rams. They have an affiliate program where you receive a pin code for "up to 1% below dealer invoice" price. I'm just unsure how to even approach a dealer with that information. Whip it out at the last second? Go in honest and disclose up front?

My brother’s father in law is a retired GM employee, and they have a dedicated website to order vehicles through their Friends and Family program. You pick it out of inventory of local dealerships, or even custom build one and they ship it to the dealer of your choice. I’m even eligible...but the discounts they give nullify any bonuses and attractive financing offers, so it’s a wash (for me, although I haven’t checked in 3-4 years).

I think I'm just gonna give a random dealer a run for it for a vehicle I have little intention of buying, and see what happens. then go from there.
