@dodint: I know you're not his biggest fan, but I've enjoyed Mike Brewer's World of Cars on Motortrend. Only about halfway through the season as of right now, but he has has some interesting episodes. I loved the one where he visited British Motor Heritage to see parts and cars being made on the original Mini equipment from the factory.

I don't have anything against him. He's the weaker side of a two-man car show, and then they shitcanned the stronger side. So I stopped watching. I don't have any ill will towards him or anything. He's an ambassador for cars in a way that is generally positive.

I save my hate for guys like Doug Demuro and Chris Harris.

Understood. Watching all of these reruns, I do miss Edd at times.

Just chalk it up to irrational gear grinding. So to speak. Not spilling ink on them.

I liked Doug's series about driving luxury/sports cars as daily drivers and all of that.

Don't really care for anything else from the guy.

So the Cannonball record has been broken... again. It's the fourth time in the last year and the third since COVID-19.

25h 39m from the Red Ball Garage in Manhattan to the Portofino Hotel in Redondo Beach. Toman and Tabbutt were also part of a team that broken the record in November 2019.

My neighbor bought a mid-90's SVT Cobra Mustang, and has spent pretty much the entire time fixing random things on it, including multiple leaks.

When we had land barge RWD cars in the 70's my dad would put tires in the trunk.

We did something similar with our '85 S-10.

The only reason I drove the SVT in the snow was because we got a hefty snowfall while the car was at the mechanic having a new fuel pump put in. Rather than do the prudent thing and let it sit there for a few days I insisted on driving it back to my sisters house in South Greensburg. It wouldn't go up the alley the usual way, had to drive around to the very end of it and creep through a few blocks of back alley to reach her parking pad.

18 minute video with about 30 seconds of actual footage.

I get their side of not wanting to put too much out there, but I would have liked to have seen how empty it was to get out of Manhattan in under 5 min and even their last minute or two before they finished.

Evidently cannonballing is a whole lifestyle? I had no idea. Pretty cool, as long as no one gets killed trying to beat the record.

I am still a little skeptical of the whole electric trend, but Skoda Enyaq SUV sure looks good:

Is that the Skoda version of the VW ID.3?

During the introduction today it was claimed that Enyaq is the only electric crossover in Europe. Can be done in 4x4, and the fastest model does 0-60 in 6.2 seconds. (the base model at 8.6s).

Starts at $50,000 (the most expensive Skoda ever)

Elon supposedly told investors that Tesla wants a vehicle smaller and more affordable than the Model 3, particularly to compete in the European market and its generally smaller cars. It would almost certainly be built in the Gigafactory now under construction near Berlin. If, for example, Tesla comes out with an electric hatchback that's around the size of a VW Golf or Audi A3 hatch, I'd be all over that like stink on a skunk.
