That was my fear about doing that with the big name company i use that promotes it vigourously. They give a 3% discount for signing up and using the app or whatever is required to have that big brother device. I figure after one 6 month policy cycle they recoup that with higher rates on most people based on the data they receive.The son of a friend of mine decided to get one of those safe driving devices installed in his car. He was trying to save some money on insurance. Not sure what company it was, but when he got his next bill, it was $50 dollars higher then the previous one. Not sure what he was doing wrong but I didn't know they could punish you with one of those devices.
