Anyone buy from Blue Knob Auto before? Thoughts?
Little late reply but I've bought two vehicles there. No problems whatsoever. I never had a trade in, but have been told they lowball you on their trades. The price you see is the price you pay (and they absolutely 100% mean that). I tried to get $500 knocked off and it was a no deal. Hard to complain when they're likely the lowest around too. If there's a specific vehicle you want, make sure you reserve it before you make the drive up. They update their website multiple times a day. And if you go on a Saturday be prepared to wait. I don't think it's out of the question for them to sell 50 cars a day. They're BUSY

The son of a friend of mine decided to get one of those safe driving devices installed in his car. He was trying to save some money on insurance. Not sure what company it was, but when he got his next bill, it was $50 dollars higher then the previous one. Not sure what he was doing wrong but I didn't know they could punish you with one of those devices.

I think they count on that happening with those. No one always drive the speed limit or never breaks "hard" etc. I assume those devices are designed to make you pay more for driving normally. Assuming that is the type of device you are talking about.

I absolutely love it so far. We got a nice deal on the 2019 Elite, and the features are just incredible. I went from driving a 2007 Civic to this, and it's like I went from the Stone Age to the Space Age.

Recently I started getting a warning message that the battery in my key fob is getting weak. Now, my 2009 BMW does NOT have comfort access, so the battery is re-chargeable and it is supposed to be charged anytime I drive the car (with the fob inserted in the front slot). The key fob is completely sealed, with the battery permanently locked inside.

I know there are videos on Youtube showing that if you have a soldering iron, strong knife, and a strong will, you can crack the sealed fob and attempt to replace the battery - but that's simply not me.

Does anybody have any tips how to get replacement key fob AND how to make the new key fob programmed for my car? I do not want to go through the dealership because I just found out that - in the typical nickel-and-diming BMW fashion - the new key would cost me freaking $450!!

I'll gladly work with a no-name fob, as long as it works. No tiny logo in the center of the fob is worth $450...

Kia keyless fobs cost about $250. Fortunately, they have replaceable batteries.

I've actually heard of some people leaving it on their cell phone wireless charging stand and having success.

If the wireless charger route doesn’t work and you want to replace it yourself, it doesn’t seem complicated at all:

Personally, I wouldn’t spend the money they’re asking for a replacement. I’d try and fix the current one for the total cost of the battery first.

We have completely different comfort levels for "it doesn’t seem complicated at all"!!

Thanks to everybody for all the tips!

Ultimately, I will indeed at least try to replace the battery first - if it works, I'll be able to save 90%+ of the money BMW dealership asks for - all while giving BMW the most satisfying finger - and learning valuable soldering skills during the process!

Plans for a reborn DeLorean DMC-12 include a new engine and modern amenities, but the same iconic looks fans know and love. The company has floated a price tag of around $100,000 in the past for a modern DeLorean, but for some, it's hard to put a price on such epic nostalgia.

I'm interested to see what they come up with, but that price point... yowzah.

They've been saying that for years and the same news outlets rerun the stories. Fantastic press for DMCH but so far it's been several years and they've produced nothing.

Current owners only real reservation with it is every time they build a new car, that's a set of spare parts that are no longer available for the old ones. Lots of the parts that they used to have in stock are now 'unavailable' and we believe it might be because they've taken them out of inventory in anticipation of this effort.

They're selling pristine old ones for $75k+ so $100,00 for a restomod from them sounds 'reasonable.'

My car is for sale and I hope to have it gone by the first week of March so none of this really affects me.
