My Dad and I restored a '79 Bronco II when we lived on base in NC. By restored I mean he bought it in non-running condition and we nursed it back to drive-able, then he sold it so we could move to PA when he got out. It's the only Chevy I remember us working on.

Yeah, ****, weird. I was thinking about the Blazer for some reason at the end there.
Good, no Chevy's at all then, I like that better.
We did have a Pontiac Sunbird at one point. God damn we were poor.

My parents bought a used, late 70s Ford Ranchero when I was about 10ish. I thought riding around in the bed was the best thing in the world.

Brah - I bought my wrangler sport brand new in 2012 for $22k, it has 36K miles on it, and I won't even think about trading it in because of the prices.Yep. To get an equivalent Wrangler to the one I bought in 2013 brand new for just under $31K would cost $41-42K today. Insane.

Also the Gladiator makes my dingle tingle, but I'll be 100% getting a rubicon used after a few years. Trucks are ridiculous in price, and while I really want one, I ain't about making that stupid financial decision.

So the first 4-5 years I used my wife's car to drive back and forth to work at times because she rode the bus in. Then a year ago maybe a little more, I bought my civic and my Wrangler became my real bad winter day/summer vehicle. So now it sits in the garage until I need it lol.

I use to take my kids for rides and to baseball and football practice in the bed of a 1985 Datsun king cab pick up. They loved it. I imagine I would get thrown in jail if I tried that today. Things sure have changed. Oh well, probably for the best.My parents bought a used, late 70s Ford Ranchero when I was about 10ish. I thought riding around in the bed was the best thing in the world.

Last time I sold a car I used Craigslist, but it takes work because you have to weed through the scammers.whats the best way to sell a car? do people still look at ads in the news paper? cars.com?
I would use Autotrader.com if I were selling a car and CL didn't work quick enough.
Or, hit the super easy button and take it to Carmax. You'll get about 70 to 80 percent of what you think you should, but it'll be gone in like 30 minutes. They have one in northern Ohio and another in Harrisburg area.

we have a 150 days until my wifes lease runs out. the car on private sale is worth more than the buy out price so we have some time before we need to execute so wanted to see what we might be able to do on our own.

I may have hit the lottery with selling on CL. Within 2 hours of posting, I get a call, guy comes by an hour later, looks at it, steps inside and says he'll buy it at list price. Doesn't even test drive it. I was a little skeptical, so I asked for 1/3 deposit. Ended up working out with no issues.
The price was only a couple hundred below Blue Book, so if you price it right you should get interest.

Just got off the phone with MetLife. The girl who was excluded on her dad's policy has been making payments on the collection, so it looks like I'll actually get my full deductible back in a few months.

My driver's side rear brake pad is down to 3/32". I have brand new rotors and pads in a box in my garage, but really don't want to do them until the Spring............

I just want to see your reaction to thisReason I ask is the E9 3.0CS is a very small coupe. It's one of my all time favorites, a pic of me with a CSL at the BMW Museum:
Thought maybe you weren't getting a sense of size from the picture I posted earlier.

Gold and fake woodgrain were darn near the official colors of the 70s. It just needs an avocado-green interior (with vinyl seats and shag carpet) to top off the look.

I had no idea registering a truck was such a pain in the ass. My E350 is a 1-ton truck, and since I bought it out of state I had to have the weight verified (5780lbs). The weight had to be verified by a certified state mechanic that also had a scale. Ended up going to Landers in Jeannette. They had never seen that PennDOT form before. Was very surprised I got it done in one day.
Also, trucks pay out the ass for registration fees. I classified mine as a Class 2 but will be pushing that a bit if I tow too much. Blah.
No idea why brodozer mall crawlers put up with the extra reg fees. My Land Rover only weighed 1,000 pounds less and it was classed as a passenger vehicle.
As an aside, anyone know a good mechanic to take a full size truck to in Westmoreland County? I need to get an inspection and I know I have a fuel leak that needs addressed, looking for a shop that will do both. Thinking something like Wyatt's on 981.

Bulldozer mall crawlers usually don't put up with the fees and are overweight sitting in the truck.I had no idea registering a truck was such a pain in the ass. I transferred my plate from my 1/2 ton Ford to my 3/4 ton Dodge Diesel and never had to up it a class. It's overweight sitting in my driveway @ 7300 lbs. Oh well.
Bauer Automotive in Scottdale does all of my work.
