OK, that newfound optimism was short-lived.

I'm a Tomlin fan, but here I thought we weren't supposed to live in our fears or something.

He'll explain it away with some mumbo jumbo faux intellectual coach speech.

I'm at peace with that. No different than a failed 4th down attempt, except they conceded 7 yards of field position, and passed up the chance to put the ball in the hands of their best player(s) in a short yardage situation.

So no, I'm not really at peace with that.

As soon as they were down by 14 it was over.

Steelers are a better team at full strength than the Pats are. Alas, we'll probably never see it

I agree. Maybe we'll get a rematch in the playoffs, assuming... well, a lot of things.

Just caught up. Tomlin hasn't tomlin'd in a while. And he really unleashed it with that FG attempt.

And Landry Jones might be the only QB in the world who hates pass protection. Give him time to throw and he's a horror show

He takes a half hour to go thru his progressions, that's for sure.

That's what I was thinking. If his first option is open, he's OK, but when he has to scan through 2nd, 3rd, 4th options, he gets to be indecisive and inaccurate.

Looking at the game results (just going by box score)...that went.....much better than expected? I think? Were the Steelers really in the game the whole time?

My biggest concern moving forward is the Steelers rush defense. That used to be the one thing they could rely on even in all these years of having a terrible secondary. If they can't stop the run anymore, they're toast.
