Did you numbskulls think the first canes would be in friggin uniontown or something

Blame whoever decided to call the area in southern Allegheny County "South Fayette" when Fayette **** County is another 30 miles southeast.
Yeah I made that same mistake thinking it was farther away.

Bj's was a good get for Newbury market but I don't think there's anything else in the pipeline for that morass.

Give or take, the turnpike exchange in Monroeville, Top Golf, and the 279/79 interchange are all about the same distance from Grant Street. The perception of distance couldn’t be more different though.

As a North Hills guy who is originally from farther north (Slippery Rock), stuff in the South Hills might as well be on the moon. While I've certainly heard of it, I don't have the slightest idea where exactly South Fayette is or how to get there, and I've lived in Pittsburgh for like 25 years at this point. I imagine many in the South Hills would have the same reaction if I said that something was in Wexford or Warrendale.

There was a story in the local paper recently about the BBQ place that opened up in our mall. Covid and other things hit their old restaurant/catering business hard, and they were homeless for a short time. I went to grab lunch from them months ago, but the person who was supposed to clean the fryers never showed, so they couldn't open on time. Okay, I get it, I'll come back another time. A few weeks later, I go up and they're closed. I see that they're now only open Tues-Sat. Okay, maybe I missed that the first time I was there.

Went there for lunch today, and they're closed. I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but I'm pretty **** sure that ensuring that the business is actually open may be key to staying in business. All I wanted to do was support a local small business and enjoy some tasty BBQ.

Probably ran off with those sweet, sweet PPP loans.

This guy should have been the main target for those loans. I need to go back to that article to see if it mentions them.

Uh, I'm not sure what happened with them, but we randomly picked up Subway for the four of us. Four foot longs, no combos, or chips...and it was $45. Now we get a second meal out of them, but Subway...sucks. And especially so at that price point.

In other fast food sandwich news, we went to a party with Jimmy John's subs/tray/platter. Pretty good stuff tbh.

Every Subway that I've been in since the late 90s has been a disgusting mess. Give me Jersey Mikes or Jimmy Johns over Subway every day of the week. I'm still angry that Quiznos died.

$12 for a foot long roast beef last time I was at subway. Madness. Those mfers don't take expired coupons either.

My local Subway was the best one I had ever been to, and I ate there weekly. I would not be returning based on the new prices if they were still around. Jersey Mikes is decent, but I was never a fan of Jimmy Johns.

Quiznos was pretty good. The only one within 100 miles of my house now is in a gas station somewhere west of Wheeling. I don't know if they expanded too fast or what but they were all over the place for a few years.

There used to be a Quiznos in Oakland but I think that one bit the dust recently - as recently as last year.

I love how our generation has slid into boomer sh*t like "back in my day, a gallon of gas cost a nickel!".

The souf Craig street one lasted through the pandemic somehow but I'm pretty sure it's closed now.

Back in my day, Jimmy Johns subs had sprouts on them! We all knew the risks but we ate it anyway and it was glorious.

Wait did they close the Tim Horton's in Canonsburg or Washington or wherever it was? I don't go down there for work anymore but was hoping it was a sign they'd start springing up around here.

Tim Hortons is trash. Maybe it's better in Canada but the US Tims are gross.

When I was in college I loved the Quiznos clam chowder. They had a location in Latrobe near Shop 'N Save. Like Ronnie, the last one I saw was in a gas station in Wisconsin.

I lost access to Jimmie John's when I switched to WFH. So now I fill that void with Firehouse Subs.

They recently put a Firehouse Subs in the Beaver Valley Mall but have done an awful job promoting it. Every person I've mentioned it to has been like: "wait, there's a what?"
