I made the mistake of getting some popcorn chicken from KFC for the first time in 10+ years. I took one bite and chucked the rest. All breading, a sliver of chicken, and rock hard. I doubt these could really be any worse.

Not sure if this is the thread for this, George Motz is gonna be at two different event in the area this weekend slinging Oklahoma smash burgs. Hoping to get to at least one of them.

I'm not sure why anyone gets anything other than the Chicken sandwich at KFC anymore.I made the mistake of getting some popcorn chicken from KFC for the first time in 10+ years. The kangaroo agrees. The only thing I don't get is the justification of eating one (other than the obvious environmental impact and/or lack of eating meat ). They taste good but have an asinine amount of fat and are just as expensive as regular meat.I actually like Impossible Burgers.

Why does KFC even exist?

"Other than the obvious environmental impact" is taking up a lot of space here. That fat content contains zero cholesterol and is roughly equivalent to an 80/20 blend of ground beef. The kangaroo agrees. I've committed to choosing an Impossible when available when we go to restaurants where it's an option for the thing I want to get. I'm firmly in the 'reducetarian' movement.

When Bird on the Run, Chikn, and Chic-fil-A exist, why bother with KFC?

Because just the regular old bucket of fried chicken is still very good?

About twice a year we get the family bucket at KFC. Nice to pick it up and take it to a park for a picnic. There are no other chicken places near us, so it's what we have. There's a CFA on the way home from work, but I've had it with the lines there. Last two times it was a 45+ minute wait

This conversation has given me a craving for Hooks chicken. Looks like I'm getting that this weekend.

There are a few around but I go to Homestead out of convenience. That location also has much better health department inspection scores...That the place on Washington Blvd? This conversation has given me a craving for Hooks chicken. Looks like I'm getting that this weekend.

I always wondered what that place was like. Never knew a single person that ate at one. There are a few around but I go to Homestead out of convenience. The chicken is very good. Hush puppies are good. Shrimp is meh.

I remain quite snarked off that Popeyes dropped "Cajun rice" from their menu. Irrationally so.

I ate too much chik fil a when they came to Altoona. Too much. Haven't gone back in 3 years. It tasted too good which started grossing me out. Can't explain it clearly.
