Dunkin Donuts doesn't make their donuts and muffins in house any longer. Thaw and bake/fry. Very sad.
Unless you go to a local bakery, ain't nobody making their donuts on site anymore.
Krispy Kreme does, brother. You can even watch them being made. So good.
No kidding? The only Krispy Kreme near Pittsburgh is in Washington PA. Beyond that, there's one near Kent OH. So, unfortunately I've never had a Krispy Kreme straight from their store.

in the 90s I had a friend who baked locally for DD. when I was unemployed she'd pay me $100 a week plus gas money to drive her home at 3:30AM after her shift.

KK is overrated. My local grocery store's donuts, muffins and bagels are superior to both DD and KK.
This except my local store and not yours. I'm not saying mine is better than yours, but, well, you know what I mean

In the 90s we had a drive through car wash that we figured out the owner's code to so we would use it about 500 times a week and put the rag top down after the water part was done so the blowers could blast us. DD demolished it and put their store there. I'll never forgive them.

Yeah, they have a whole conveyer system where you can watch the donuts come out of the fryers and get glazed. It's very soothing. They also put a big neon "Hot Donuts Now" sign when there are fresh donuts:

In my previous life as a baker, we used to make our own scratch donuts. They were better than Krispy Kreme, even a day old.

We used to make bread pudding out of our old donuts...which is also excellent. Also, why diabetes is rampant in the south.

The kangaroo circa 2002-2003 worked at DD. At that point, they were still being made in store. I didn't make donuts (a man that looked like he solicited prostitutes had that job) but it was my job to clean up his mess. That was a yucky job.

Just used the Chick Fil A app for the first time for pick up... Like everything else they do, it's fantastic.

I don’t know where Laughlintown is, but I do know I’m not traveling more than 15 minutes for donuts.

We had a Mister Donut when I was growing up, which was probably not as good as I remember. Dunkin bought them out and it went downhill.

The new Chippewa Dunkin is two doors down from what used to be a local donut shop. It wasn’t great but still a net loss in quality.

They put a Dunkin in here a few weeks ago and apparently it is the best thing to happen in Chippewa Township. Ever
I don't understand why people flock to these things like there may not be a tomorrow. The one in my town is always slammed no matter what time of the day.
I don't get it either. I find their coffee to be extremely acidic. It has this nasty tang to it that is only partially helped by cream. There's a reason why when you ask for cream, they will put half a cup in there unless you tell them otherwise.

Also, F them for changing their name. And for being from Boston.
Agreed. I don’t like their coffee at all.

I will say, around here, Dunkin has overtaken Starbucks for the go-to for kids to get “coffee.”

Yep same here in fayettenam. There's A local coffee place not 4/10 of a mile away either, with a drive thru and everything, that will likely be out of business soon too. Sad.

Or their sister store in Mt Pleasant.

Coincidentally I drive past there every day taking lil mac to daycare. May stop tomorrow.

Hit up Dunkin at 6:11am, and there were already 6 cars in the drive thru lane.

Is not being a big fan of donuts in general an unpopular opinion? I'm okay with the occasional cake donut or apple fritter, but other than that... miss me with that sht fam.

We did that as well this weekend. Our location doesn't have curbside yet, but it still was quick. The drive thru was probably two lines of 25 cars deep. We ordered through the app, the person took our name when we pulled pu, and from the time that we joined the line until we left with our food was 12 minutes. Incredible for how long the line was.

I’m not sure what dictates the curb side option, but ours has offered it and then not offered it like 3 times. It’s back now.

if you waited until November of this pandemic to utilize Chik a fil's curbside, you are doing it wrong

I think they taste fine and all, but I'm not like a hyena that runs to them when they're brought into the office. If I'm ever actually a DD, it's likely because I so drunk the night before and I needed one of those plastic sausage, egg, and cheese sandwiches, some wake up wraps, and a couple hash browns...I don't think I have purchased a donut in semi-recent memory...

I always got turned off by the lines at the one in Monroeville on 22. Thinking there is now way they can be that efficient, cause the lines there often go back like I said 25 deep in both lines. I was happy to be proven wrong though. They are that efficient. Also friendly. If they start offering curbside I'll go even more often.
