Clutch did something very classy after the announcement came out. He tweeted a photo of Clemente, back to the camera, standing in right field. As if to say "If it's good enough for Clemente, it's more than good enough for me."

My kids are happy that Cutch is still on the Pirates' roster. I'm not sure he'll be on there much longer, but I haven't told them that....

Speaking of spring training, we'll be 90 minutes from Pirate City on Friday (after a week of Orlando-area shenanigans). I am trying to get my wife to head over to Bradenton for a few hours that day. I know there won't be games yet, but is the Pirate City complex open to the public during those days? What's the crowd level/parking situation?

a lot of travel tournaments do this. It's called the California rule or something. They need to keep on a schedule though to keep the brackets moving. The MLB does not, so - SAD!

Solid back to back posts ulf and the loney here.

1.) That 2nd base rule sucks and there is no need to explain why it sucks. Might as well make it PSL softball and start with a 1-1 count

2.) The WBC rosters are a bit thin. If the United States had its true pitching staff, they would demolish everyone. No Kershaw, Arrieta, Sale, Hendricks, Kluber, Scherzer or Baumgarner. Actually, if you look at the guys that finished in the top 10 in the AL and the top 10 in the NL in Cy Young voting, only Cuteo, JA Happ, Andrew Miler, and Michael Fulmer are playing.

That being said, some great, fabulous names littered throughout these rosters. Chris Leroux? Bruce Chen? Ernesto Frieri? JC Romero? How fat and washed up will the Canadian pitching staff be? Jason Marquis is jewish? Jason Marquis can still pitch? So many questions.

Also, one of Kenny the kangaroo's teammates from high school and legion ball is playing for the Italians. Note: Kenny the kangaroo is not from Italy.
