Biggest Regrets in Your Life?

I've never felt regret about the big decisions in my life - where I went to college, my first jobs, the grad school I choose.

I only regret two things, that I can think of. One is not "coming out" earlier. I could have been "myself" earlier and wish I would have had the bravery to do so. The second regret is one of the relationships I had in college. It was a mistake from day one, and I regret everything involved.

I think everyone has that one relationship while they're 18-24 years old that they regret. Learning give and take. Learning what your limits are and what you want back. For some people it involves healing whatever scars or open wounds they had about who they are what they think they deserve.

Unless you're like my brother who found the woman who he married and had children with at 18 and are still happy with 16 years later.

It's never too late to learn guitar, IMO. I miss being able to [physically] play as much as I used to. I can only take about 20-30 minutes if I'm lucky anymore.

One of the things I miss most about high school was being in a concert band (I played tuba, because I overcompensate). Playing music in an organized fashion like that is a lot of fun. I highly recommend everyone try to learn an instrument and join a band of some sort if they haven't before

One of my electives in high school was guitar class, and our final was basically just playing a song of your choosing. There was a lot of classic rock/simple tunes, and I'm up there rolling with Puppets. That was a fun class.

I never had a bad break up and remain friends with everyone I have dated since 8th grade.

Cute.

I think it's a cool stat given how my persona comes off here. I'm actually a great guy.

I've had bad breakups where the girl was planning our lives together after two months of dating

Needless to say, I'm better at vetting those girls now

I should have made more of an effort to try to date. I'm not sure I would have succeeded. I'm not sure I could succeed now. But I should have made more of an effort when I was younger. I have significant anxiety problems, and I generally have pretty significant problems interacting with other people. I wouldn't be surprised that if I had gone through school 10 years later I would have had an autism-spectrum diagnosis pinned on me. I score really high on those written tests out there that supposedly test for autism-spectrum potential. It's hard enough for me to just talk to people on a casual or professional level—the notion of romantic interaction doesn't really compute for me. So for years I just pushed the whole concept to the back of my mind and focused on other things—my education and then my job. I'm now 40, and I've never been in any significant relationship. Heck, I've only been on a handful of dates. If I wanted a family (although children admittedly creep me out), the window is closing if not closed.

I regret not learning to play an instrument.
Ooh. That's a good one. My wife bought me a learning guitar a few years ago, picks, a guide, a tuner, etc. I just have been lazy and unmotivated to get into it. I had a hard time switching chords so instead of practicing harder, I quit. Think I need to give it another go.

I think he meant In-n-Out is overrated. Which it is
Oh I got it. But that opinion is false, so I went with talking about something more subjective.

Not mining bitcoin when it first started. Could have amassed thousands easily then sat on them until they went to $1,000 per. Can't ever change it.

Skip chords until you've built up finger strength and callouses. Play scales for your practice, and in 2-4 weeks start with the chords.
