This interests me. I find it weird that people prefer to watch sports at bars vs at home

obviously I went with number 3

I think if I didn't live in sports hell I'd enjoy the bar more, but I do, so I don't.

Last time I watched sports in a bar it was a Chicago themed bar...on Carson street. Dafuq.

The only bar I ever liked to watch sports was called the Callbox Lounge:

The shady looking guy at the end of the bar was indeed a bookie, so it made for fun Sunday afternoons.

To add to this, with the wife and kid on a different floor (for their own benefit as much as mine).

Where I live now, I prefer to be at home, frequently by myself/family.

If I'm in Pittsburgh, then a bar where it's fun.

I like to watch at home by myself. It's hard for me to concentrate on the game with other people around.

I watch at home with my wife falling asleep/surfing the internet/watching a movie on her laptop on the couch next to me. So I picked alone, but it's alone-ish.

For me, it totally depends on the situation. I like going to Super Bowl parties when the Steelers aren't playing, and I only have a moderate interest in the outcome. Being around other people then makes the game more exciting. However, if the Steelers are playing, I'd rather be at home so as not to be annoyed by the casual fans at the party.

Looking at a different scenario, I went to one of the official US Soccer watch parties in Miami for the US/Ghana game in the 2014 World Cup, and it was awesome. People were chanting, singing, etc. the whole game, and the place absolutely exploded when Brooks scored the winner. It was probably the next closest thing to being in the supporters section at the stadium. Of course, I went to that early to make sure I had a good seat with a view of the screen and easy access to the bartender. I'm not sure I would have liked it if I were stuck at the back without a good view and no beer.

Absolutely.

My wife sleeps for the middle 40% of F1 races and 2Q/HT/3Q of 1PM Steeler games.

Another vote for at home with the wife. For Pens games, we're both pretty much glued to the TV for 82+ games/yr. Mrs K is actually more into watching Steelers games than I am anymore. I'm usually just surfing until there's an exciting play to watch. Don't really watch much of anything else.

Normally, I watch the games alone, but would rather watch it with other serious fans of the team in a setting other than a bar, but living near Philly doesn't provide that opportunity often.

In person is the objective best way to view a sporting event.

The only sport I prefer watching on my own is motor racing. And that's mostly because F1 is a niche sport, and there aren't a lot of communal places to watch outside of attending in person. So I grew up without any notion that you even could watch a race somewhere other than the living room.

There's a Steelers bar pretty close to our apartment (Giordano's) and I hope to go there at least once before we have to move.

I found a bar deep in the hills of WI, no joke, that puts F1 on in the summer.

Well that's the Elkhart Lake effect, right? There's a culture of racing in that part of WI.

There was a bar in Orange County that used to open for full service at 3 am for F1. Mario Andretti, Phil Hill, Dan Gurney, and other luminaries were known to show up for the bigger races. All kinds of racing memorabilia, including an F1 show car. Speedway Cafe, maybe?

The bouncer at a bar in Santa Monica took pity on me after a few consecutive weeks in '99 or' 00 where I'd show up and couldn't get any bartenders to put on rebroadcasts. So he let me have my own private area downstairs where the pool tables were. So I was still just watching by myself. We had a decent group for the '00 title decider, and we were all Ferrari fans, so that was neat.

Wrong side of WI. Did I ever share the pic of the Porsche we stumbled upon there?

We caught the last few innings of a Pirate game there when we were in SF earlier this year. Cool spot, aside from the bartender(s) we were the only Pittsburghers there at that point, it was also midday. Seemed like it would be great for a Steeler game.

Saw a pens playoff game there. Sat next to late 40s guy with a mullet and white leather high tops. I didn't bother ask if he was from PA.

 My brother and I speak frequently about the "Yinzer Quality" or sometimes just "The Quality." Living in an area with a high number of tourists from Western PA, we could always spot them at a distance.
