This is what I asked you
So you're saying comedians aren't conservative because ..they don't have to work as hard to make people on the right like their material?
and this is what you said
Yup, that's precisely my point.
I thought that was a sarcastic response but you explained further when I admitted I didn't get your point.

For the hell of it, I googled conservative comedians:

Tim Allen
Adam Carolla
Rob Schneider
Jeff Foxworthy
Dennis Miller
Ron White
Bill Engvall
Adam Sandler
Jeff Dunham
Norm Macdonald

Norm and Tim are the only two from the list who I actually enjoy.
Agreed. I enjoyed Ron White once but it was enough. Not actually sure i enjoy Tim Allen currently since i never saw his latest TV show

I’ve never seen his new show, but I’ve enjiyed everything he did in the past, from his stand up to Home Improvement. He’s definitely one of the most loud and proud republicans in the comedian world.

And now that I think about it, Roseanne Barr is on that list, too.

It's interesting. I hear the minority opinion that Chappelle wasn't funny. It was, but not funny enough to get all the fanfare it got. Instead it was just very cleverly crafted and it needed to be as it was risky. In some ways it's not comedy but more "tricked ya" and "thought i couldn't say that but i found a way" which is basically what he often did but started getting in trouble for i think. I've never followed him that close. But whatever the special was... it was outstanding

Burr on the other hand was multiple times embarrassing and cringy. But he smashed his head against the wall enough to make me laugh several times. And yes it was his relatable moments of trying to check his rage and where it comes from. His self awareness and struggle and also acceptance is excellent and entertaining but he's still someone that tends towards the comedian im innately biased against. Aggressive, crude, the guy's guy comedians

I’ve been a Chappelle fan from the start, and really enjoyed his special. I do like Burr, but haven’t seen his new special yet because my wife isn’t interested in watching it (too harsh for her liking). He’s definitely for not everyone.

Haven't seen the whole thing, but every clip I've seen from Chappelle's most-recent show has been very funny. I also think it's pathetic that people are equating Chappelle's comedy with conservatism simply because he says things that aren't "PC." Have we reached the point where the social censorship of political correctness is now inherent to the identity of the left?

Conservatives are the ones ballyhooing the material as conservative.

Tim Allen
Adam Carolla
Rob Schneider
Jeff Foxworthy
Dennis Miller
Ron White
Bill Engvall
[edit: Larry The Cable Guy]
Adam Sandler
Jeff Dunham
Norm Macdonald
Nearly half the names on this list are at best apolitical, or have perhaps one or two things in their spectrum of beliefs that line up with conservatism. Ron "everyone's a little bit gay" White is not a conservative. Adam Sandler is not a comedian. Carolla I suspect made this list because of his outspoken opposition to cancel culture and the crackdown on speech on college campuses, which is something comedians of all stripes should (and mostly are) be upset with. Norm is not really a conservative.

So that leaves us with a puppeteer, three guys whose entire stand-up careers are based on one-joke shtick, and Rob Schneider. Bill Engvall is the only one on that list I'd say is both a really good comedian and a conservative.

Conservatives are the ones ballyhooing the material as conservative.

If saying non-PC stuff is conservative, wouldn't that mean that PC stuff is liberal? I don't see liberals rushing to claim the material, and I have seen reviews from liberal-leaning sources accusing Chappelle of "sounding like a conservative" in the new special. What I see instead is the left generally embracing PC and cancel culture.

Anti-pc certainly =\= conservative.

Chappelle was just whining and trying to make it funny. That’s all I got out of his special. I chuckled from time to time, but overall it wasn’t at the level I expect from him. Not even close.

The Comedy Central Roast of Alec Baldwin was pretty good.

I'm saying the bar for what conservative-leaning people will laugh at is so low when it comes to politically-themed material, if that's the only bar you're clearing to get that laugh then there is not going to be a large population of such comedians who have any chops.

There's nothing wrong with the premise of the material (that cancel culture warriors are terribad, and they're eating their young) in that show. But it has to be funny; like sub-10% of the jokes in Chapelle's last show were funny, at least to the level you should be expecting from him.
Leftist comedy the past 4 years has been "Trump lol" and "Pence's mother lol".

Not sure if serious.

It just seems like a weird flex to say "conservative comics don't have to work as hard for a laugh".

Apparently... I think we can all agree that the extreme sides of both parties are easy to get hyuck hyucks from as long as you pander to them... yes? Okay. Moving on.

Leftist comedy...
Again. WTF does this even mean.

'Leftist'
It just seems like a weird flex to say "conservative comics don't have to work as hard for a laugh".
Again (for the third time) that's not the point, nor is it what I'm contending.

I asserted there weren't good conservative comedians. A list was provided that included Jeff goddamn Dunham and Rob Schneider.

Vindicated.

No way to interpret this...

"I'm saying the bar for what conservative-leaning people will laugh at is so low when it comes to politically-themed material"

as

"I asserted there weren't good conservative comedians"

If your point was "there are more famous people that are left-leaning than right" then, yeah, we all know that...but that was not how - in my estimation - anyone interpreted your thoughts...
