Sorry to kick the thread off on a bummer note, but............... it has been ten years since Mitch Hedberg died.

I can't stand that one liner style of comedy, but he was pretty undeniable.

Very few have the skill to pull that off. Hedberg definitely, I'd throw in Steven Wright, and to a very lesser extent *maybe* Demetri Martin. Tho I don't like all his stuff but when he just plays a couple chords and does a bunch of one line observations I laugh.

Martin is horrible. Absolutely awful. and obviously blatantly trying to rip off the essence of Hedberg.

Eddie Izzard is hilarious. I got to see him live in May and he did 2 hours all of which were amazing.

haha I had a feeling I'd get that reaction. That's why I tried to specify to a way way lesser degree. Some of his observational standup makes me laugh. That comedy central show he had was an abomination

I'm stoked, I've seen him at a 75-seat theater doing warm up material for what eventually became the Stripped tour. Served as the basis of his act for the next several years. We've since seen him at the Dolby (nee Kodak) Theater, then the Nokia Theater, and eventually were there the night he became the first solo comedian to headline the Hollywood Bowl. (He opened the show by running from the stage to the back/top of the venue...... "Alright, the view is pretty amazing. But...... probably not the best idea I've ever had.")

He's going to be in SoCal and Vegas for four shows when the tour gets here (including, I think, back at the Bowl). I'd like to see him in Vegas or Santa Barbara and make a weekend out of it.

Yeah Burr has been my favorite for...quite a while now. But Attell is the one who got me out of being a casual comedy fan.

I saw Attell at the improv and was afraid to get up, move, or do anything cause he was picking off people in the crowd left and right.

Dave Attel's "Insomniac" show on CC was great. My roommate and I used to watch it in college. What a job that had to be. Travel the country getting drunk at dive bars, then going to that cities late night drunk food spot.
