I've been listening to Stern for 20+ years at this point and in some regards, the show has declined.Oh, I think that's a tremendous disservice to his talents as a broadcaster. MM is the loudest buffoon in a medium that invites buffoonery. Howard Stern is one of the most gifted entertainers of my lifetime. I can understand not finding his brand of humor funny, or not liking his show. But he genuinely is a force of nature.
He is a great broadcaster, but not filling the "Jackie/Artie" chair was a bad decision.
He's slowly becoming his father...an old, whiny alter kocker. He used to be more relatable to the common man. Now he is above all that. And sure, he's earned it, but the vibe is not the same.
Cutting back to 3 days a week grates on my nerves.
He hires and fires people with no transparency and then berates others for not being forthcoming. He's been through a whole news crew or five. Farrell, Bubba, Fitzsimmons, Jackie, etc. gone without much of a mention. Howard 101 is a vast wasteland.
I'm disappointed that he has never had Artie back on. And maybe that's Artie's doing.
All that said, I still listen to him most days.
