Oh, I think that's a tremendous disservice to his talents as a broadcaster. MM is the loudest buffoon in a medium that invites buffoonery. Howard Stern is one of the most gifted entertainers of my lifetime. I can understand not finding his brand of humor funny, or not liking his show. But he genuinely is a force of nature.
I've been listening to Stern for 20+ years at this point and in some regards, the show has declined.

He is a great broadcaster, but not filling the "Jackie/Artie" chair was a bad decision.

He's slowly becoming his father...an old, whiny alter kocker. He used to be more relatable to the common man. Now he is above all that. And sure, he's earned it, but the vibe is not the same.

Cutting back to 3 days a week grates on my nerves.

He hires and fires people with no transparency and then berates others for not being forthcoming. He's been through a whole news crew or five. Farrell, Bubba, Fitzsimmons, Jackie, etc. gone without much of a mention. Howard 101 is a vast wasteland.

I'm disappointed that he has never had Artie back on. And maybe that's Artie's doing.

All that said, I still listen to him most days.

It's Yiddish and it has a few spellings and a few meanings, but basically boils down to mean "an old fart, an elderly person who complains about everything and/or and old man who chases after young women."

That's weird because he is widely considered the best club comedian out there.

Similar feelings. Howard and Robin have reached a station in their lives where the average listener simply cannot relate to them. It's three hours of them complaining about the travails of being rich. There's no everyman voice or perspective on the show, the hustler that's still out shilling for their real career outside the show trying to make a living. Not filling the Artie chair killed the show, as far as I'm concerned. Now, the only time I listen is if I hear there's been a cool guest. The last time I listened was when Dan Aykroyd was on after SNL40.... before that....... I think it was a Mark Cuban interview? I don't even remember.

I've always felt the show was at its best when Billy West was on, and then the last year on testicle radio through the first 2-3 years on Sirius.
I'm disappointed that he has never had Artie back on. And maybe that's Artie's doing.
My understanding is that's a mutual detente; don't forget, Artie physically assaulted more than one staffer during his decline. Stern has been supportive offline, but that's all he really should be doing. And I say this as an unabashed Artie fan.

I wish they would just turn that into 'Howard 101: The Interviews' or something like that. He could easily fill a whole station with just his interviews, which are by far the best thing he does.

Interviews, Musical performances...anything is better than that current mess.

Does anyone know why Fred Norris had quit the Stern show? Apparently, Stern said something to upset him

Oh, tht was when Fred and his wife were at the Rainbow Room in NYC with Jackie and his wife and the Norris' got into a little fight.

Jackie came in the next day and discussed it on air. Howard, of course, starting poking the open wound and Fred really didn't want to talk about it, but Howard persisted.

Fred quit and walked out. And then returned the next day.

Lol so it really was a nonissue then. I was just curious, I wish I could have heard Stern back in his hayday. I enjoy looking up his interviews when I'm bored.

It's lulz-a-plenty that Cookie Puss is still widely regarded as the high point of the show's history.

Yep.

I'm still trying to figure out how his show is no longer on CC but his ex, Amy Schumer is still going strong.
