We have 6 humans and three bathrooms. Between the three bathrooms I'd say we use 4 rolls a week.

There's no chance I go through even one a week...

Well, this can be measured. Starting tomorrow morning, grab a fresh roll and take it with you where you use the facilities. Work, gym, etc.

I go through less than 50 squares a week - so less than 1/4 of a roll.

I'd consider using washable cloth toilet paper - but why bother when everyone else is wasting so much...

The reported rate is 2.7 each, a 10% variance from 'about/nearly' 3. Willingness to stretch the facts there makes me question the veracity of the rest of the claim.

Yeah, that is such an absurd number, shame on Fortune for not even bothering to fact check it. I use a bidet so I hardly use any TP, tbh. Usually two squares per #2 just to pat dry.

Why not just wipe with your hand and lick it clean?

"Mortgage" literally translates into 'death pledge.'

interesting, but it was less hardcore than I thought
mortgage (n.)
late 14c., from Old French morgage, literally "dead pledge," from mort "dead" + gage "pledge." So called because the deal dies when the debt is paid or when payment fails.

This needs meme-ified somehow.

I'm a pretty big Doors fan...that said, TIL: Alabama Song (Whiskey Bar) was not actually a Jim Morrison inspired piece...despite having a lot of his trademark characteristics...it was written in the 1920's by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, translated out of German...would have lost a strong bet there, I had no idea...that had Jimbo written all over it...

It's not exactly TIL, but it's a cool trick, and I from the second picture it seems it truly belongs here:
