Founded in Grafton, West Virginia by Anna Jarvis.
I've been to her house.
Do the carpets match the drapes?

I learned at the Mob Museum that Abercrombie and Fitch got their start making outdoors gear and sporting goods and eventually evolved into selling flasks during the Prohibition era.

Abercrombie and Fitch back in the day was *the* place to go for high-end firearms and hunting equipment—and in New York City no less. People like Teddy Roosevelt and Ernest Hemingway did their safari shopping there, and it was famous as a US rep for high-end firearms manufacturers like the British companies Purdey and Holland & Holland. IIRC, the name and trademarks were purchased out of bankruptcy in the 80s, so the current clothing company isn't the same company as the original sporting-goods store.

Mostly yes.

The original A&F went bankrupt in 1977. The name and mailing list was sold to Oshman's Sporting Goods in 1978. Oshman's used the A&F name as a mail order service before selling it off to The Limited in 1988.

Did you see that on the most recent episode of Parts Unknown? Bourdain goes there with Fred Morin, Dave McMillan (two of the most awesome people in the food world), and Newfie chef Jeremy Charles. It's full on actual France; the currency is Euros and everything. I had no idea those Froggie fcks were still here.

Their cookbook is wonderful. Last summer we went couch shopping at Living Spaces, and they had the book for room staging. While the salesperson was working with Mrs Tif on upholstery and all that, I jumped on Amazon and bought the book.

One of these days I want to go to Montreal for the F1 race, and it would be criminal if we can't work in a meal there.

Doh, I misread the box. 20 servings, 8 cookies per serving, 160 cookies in a box.

I knew it was too good to be true.

I bought my first box of them in years the other day. The boxes are smaller than they used to be but I still felt bad for killing like 90% of it.
