Read "The Disappearing Spoon" by Sam Keans. It's good stuff.

Bobby Bonilla is getting paid over a million dollars a year from now until 2035. I don't follow baseball so no, I have not heard about this until now.

Bruce Springsteen was a fan of the protopunk band Suicide. I never thought about it, and I've seen Springsteen a handful of times and have heard him do "Dream Baby Dream."

TIL Lt. Col Buck Compton, famous for his heroics as an integral part of Easy Company during World War II, was the lead prosecutor in Sirhan Sirhan's 1968 trial for the assassination of Robert F Kennedy. This guy for reference:

I just watched again a few weeks ago. It's - of course - on HBO Now.

That means they're fairly distantly related, taxonomically speaking, even though they look so much alike. The major taxonomic ranks go Kingdom -> Phylum -> Class -> Order -> Family -> Genus -> Species. For example, humans are:

Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Chordata
Class: Mammalia
Order: Primates
Family: Hominidae
Genus: Homo
Species: Sapiens

The farther you go up the tree, the more distantly related species are.

Yeah, alligators and (true) crocodiles are families of the order Crocodilia. I don't know how to put it anther way but I knew that and I still don't get it.

I probably sound like an arse, so I'll just drop it.
