Now I have...definitely need to check that out, although those images/videos still haunt me to this day. Honestly I'm thankful that 9/11 was so long ago in terms of HD technology, video, etc...

TIL that the famous "Falling Man" photo from 9/11 has been identified by most accounts as Jonathan Briley, a sound engineer working at Windows on the World at the top of the North Tower. His brother is one of the original members of The Village People (the GI), Alex Briley.

I was just in Vegas at an HR software conference the first week of October and saw the remnants of the Village People perform in a live show put on by a vendor.
Now there's 3 references in one day. haha

Laika, the first animal to orbit the Earth, was a stray from the streets of Moscow, and she overheated and died within hours of orbit insertion.

Back when he was working as a carpenter as a young man, Harrison Ford did some renovation on Joan Didion's and John Gregory Dunne's house in Malibu Beach.

There are dominant and recessive types of ear wax.

White and Black people usually have the wet type of ear wax that is orange or red. East Asians and Native Americans usually have a dry (recessive) kind that is white and flaky. Other Asians and Pacific islanders are split but more often have the wet kind.

The dry sounds like it’s less nasty IMO but I don’t know the struggles of dry earwax peoples.

Northeastern Germany today is home to a population of almost 600 greater rheas. 8 of them escaped from a private owner roughly 20 years ago. Instead of dying a miserable death in their first winter, as predicted, they thrived.

TIL also that the nandu is called greater rhea in English.

Curiously, because it only drips every 8 to 9 years, until 2014 no one had ever actually seen a drop fall. A webcam was set up in 2000, but due to technical problems it missed the eighth drip.

Yea. It was in my alumni newsletter. I've never met him as far as I remember
