TIL that Popeyes was supposedly named after Jimmy "Popeye" Doyle and not Popeye The Sailor
However...Alvin C. Copeland claimed he named the stores after the fictional detective Jimmy "Popeye" Doyle in the 1971 film The French Connection, which came out a year before the chain was founded, and not the comic strip character Popeye the Sailor.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Popeyes#NameThe company's early brand became deeply tied to the cartoon star with its sponsorship of the Popeye & Pals children's show in New Orleans, and the character appeared on items from packaging to racing boats. The name is spelled "Popeyes", without the apostrophe commonly used by other restaurant chains such as McDonald's and Hardee's. Copeland claimed facetiously that he was "too poor" to afford an apostrophe.
The chain later acquired rights to use Popeye the Sailor for marketing and used this for 35 years. In late November 2006, AFC announced the mutual termination of their licensing contract with King Features Syndicate, effectively ending their association with the Popeye characters.

To "punish" myself for getting fast food, I have to buy another meal on the menu for someone that's homeless or whatever...cajun rice is something I cannot eat, but it looked good...so it was a staple of my buying habits as well, but I never actually ate it...
I don't think there's one on my way to anything up in NYC, so I think I'm in the clear all together now...

True story, I was going to point out that Hawaii is technically a part of Oceania because the first thing I thought of was Elvis in Hawaii, but I figured someone else (you) would bring it upHawai'i is in Polynesia which is part of Oceania. So he had exactly 9 shows outside of North America.Elvis never performed outside of North America
