We have people in the neighborhood who always set them off 2 days before or after because they “have people in from out of town.”
Hey the whole neighborhood doesn’t have people in from out of town. Tell them come on the 4th or they miss out.

Was thinking about this a bit.
I bet there is a correlation between the trashy people that will extend fireworks into this weekend and the people waiting for the fireworks places to go into clearance mode on the 5th.

Was thinking about this a bit.

So I am in NY at my inlaws for the Fourth. We will be on the Hudson tomorrow night enjoying the fireworks from the boat.
But I promised my daughter we would set some off. They are illegal up here. So that will probably be me on Saturday trying to get some bottle rockets...

I asked one of my buddies (a vet) what his issue was, and it is apparently with her choosing to kneel during the anthem while at the World Cup. Kind of ironic, but it wasn’t worth prodding further.

She's never once said or done anything that makes her seem even remotely likable. No one knows anything about her because every time she has a microphone in front of her she's nothing but antagonistic toward someone or something. Add in people who don't really care that much about soccer and is it really surprising people root for others on the team and not her?

Yeah, Rapinoe seems like a narcissist completely separate from the anthem crap. She just doesn't seem like a pleasant person.

In a way, I actually agree with the take "you should stand for the anthem" when you're representing the USA on the world stage. She chose to play for USA after being invited, right? It's not like she was forced to play for USA when she didn't agree with the person running the country.

Yea but it's pretty apparent to me that nobody cares about the kids in cages that would get upset about Rapinoe and the anthem. Those kids/people are brown, Rapinoe is a white lesbian hatin' on 'merica and Lord Trump.

Meh, in my favorite sport the players stand at the blue line and fidget during the anthem, so what do I know.

Why should she change her opinion about the country, just because she’s playing in an international tournament? That’s a completely bogus expectation.
I can’t fathom why people cling onto nationalism like this. It serves far less value than bringing important issues into the limelight. If you let this stick in your craw, you have no idea what you’re even mad at.
