I think Cleveland was (or maybe still is?) a natural choice until they won the NBA championship last night. Who takes the crown now?

Losing four straight Super Bowls
Dan Bylsma coaches the hockey team

Gotta be Buffalo

I'd say Phoenix maybe? Outside of the D-Backs WS in 2001, not much else to celebrate there.

I don't know if you can count a city (Buffalo) with only 2 professional teams. 1 less chance at a title every year. Phoenix is a good choice because they have 4 teams that primarily suck

Buffalo has hockey and football.

Washington has all 4. It's been ~25 years since they won anything or have come close to winning anything.

World series in 2008.

Outside of that you would have to go back to early 80s for a world series and nba title.

They could be in the running.

In terms of Passion vs. Results, Philly wins over Phoenix. A much higher percentage of people in Philly live and die by their pro sports teams than in Phoenix. It's what makes sports talk so great around here.

Buffalo

DC doesn't strike me as a particularly passionate city. Also, they at least have one since '90

Hard to go with Buffalo with only two sports teams. Especially when you consider many of them are probably fans of the New York baseball/hockey teams.

Still Cleveland

Without LeBron the Cavs have traditionally been a footnote. They'd sacrifice Bron Bron for a Browns playoff berth in a second.

Yeah to be included on this list I think the city has to have at least 3 pro teams.

Philly has a recent world series

Whoops, meant baseball/basketball. Actually, I wonder if they root for the Raptors/Blue Jays more?

At least DC can hang their hat on those three superbowls from the 80's & 90's

Imagine the best player in the history of your team was OJ Simpson.

DC is interesting because of the diversity of badness. Redskins were once successful and went completely down the drain over 25 years. Capitals are consistently decent, but choke in the playoffs every year. The Wizards are irrelevant. The Nationals would be the "hope" I guess, but have also choked in the playoffs.

With fans of the crosstown rivals rubbing it in all the time, Jets/Mets/hockey/basketball fans in NYC have to be pretty damn frustrated.

Post NFL evil aside, the man was a hell of a tail back. If he'd stayed in Buffalo and been evil I'd have given it to you.

And Philly had Nova this spring. They partied so hard they beat up horses man!
