If in Charlotte I recommend Viva Chicken. Ate at the Ballantyne location today for lunch and it was fantastic.

Dude, what a recommendation. We make Peruvian chicken a couple times a month because of that place. No matter how good I make it, it just can't compare to Viva Chicken.

Mellow Mushroom
Are all Mellow Mushrooms related? If so, they’re terrific.

Vietnamese takeout between Disneyland and Newport Beach. What you got?

Ooh, specifically takeout? That's tough. The area south and a bit west of Disneyland is sort of the Little Saigon of SoCal, so you aren't hurting for options, in the general sense; it's pretty much a cover-your-eyes-and-throw-a-dart-at-the-map kind of thing. But honestly I'm not sure what places offer a take away option. Places in that general area that I've heard of are East Borough, Saigon 9, and (closer to Newport) Pho Saigon Pearl. One thing to note: In my experience, a lot of the Viet places in OC are cash only, so be prepared for that.

Headed to Nashville. Have a reservation at Bastion. Anyone even been there? Looking for other recommendations also. Already know where I’m getting hot chicken. Could use a good breakfast place.

Henrietta Red -- small plates, expensive and very foodie/tad experimental, but was excellent.
City House -- loud place that's good for groups. Fun dinner with good food.
Saltine -- mediocre.

Gotta lookup the small local bfast joint we went to that I really liked.

Thanks tif. We’ll have 2 youngins after a long day at Disney so eating in will be tough. Maybe we’ll save it for the weekend when we’re not at Disney

To clarify: Most places will have a take away option for their regular menu. But I'm not aware of places that have take away-specific menus or anything like that.

Takeout pho for example is a bit unwieldy, as that single dish is separated into 4 containers for transport (soup, noodles, protein, garnish).

We ended up going to Vietnam's Pearl Restaurant in Costa Mesa - which did have takeout. Wasn't too impressed, but was still good food. It was my first dive into Vietnamese, but I don't think it will overtake Thai as my favorite Asian food.

The best food we had was Szechuan at Chong Qing Mei Wei in Irvine. Reminded me of being in China with real, authentic Chinese food.

Hopefully I'm not too late.

Hattie Bs hot chicken is the gold standard if you ask me. Some people like prince's. I prefer HB.

The Southern for brunch. Ah maze ing. Get the southern burger, and add some oysters.

Arnold's meat and 3 is a great little spot.

Peg leg porker BBQ. I'd skip Jack's. Wasn't impressed.

Nashville food scene is ridiculously good.

I finally made it to Gauchos yesterday. I’ve been wanting to go for a few years but every time I pass it the line is out the door and around the corner. After having it, that line is totally justified. Probably the best sammich I’ve had in years.

Somewhere downtown/arena area for an anniversary dinner which takes reservations?

Basically, stop me from going to meat and potatoes again.

I enjoyed Sienna Mercato. After dinner you could head upstairs to the rooftop beer garden.

I thought Stuff'd was going to be a half-assed lazy attempt to cash in on Yinzerdom, but I took some friends there on Saturday and it was really good for what it was. It's close enough to work that I can swing down there on lunch if I want to.

Crazy up there on the weekend? We went before a show at the Benedum so it was likely a weekday.

I was looking at the italian joint in SM. Seemed a bit limited menu-wise but also looked very good.
It'll be a Saturday before the DVE Comedy Festival.
