Also, let me reiterate: That very convenient and giant two-story parking lot by Chipotle/Whole Foods? Do not park there.

You could probably get away with parking like right near whole foods.

S highland in shadyside might have the worst parking situation in the city.
ktk's city parking takes are #bad
imo if you are going to call out ktk for bad parking takes, you gotta post up and say where the worst parking situations in the city are located

The Honda Ruckus solves all pittsburgh parking headaches in the appropriate seasons.

Possibly. I was parked in the upper lot when I got towed.

Yeah. It's okay, not great. Service is usually subpar.

August Henry is right around the corner, though.

I love August Henry. We originally tried to go there but the hostess had absolutely no idea what she was doing. Honestly it was like she never worked front of the house before in her life. Multiple tables open that weren’t being held for reservations (we asked) but we couldn’t get in because the waiter “asked her to slow down because he was overwhelmed.” Huh? She also never actually gave us a wait time. Just said “sorry guys!” Never gave us the option to wait. Sat at the bar at Ten Penny so service was decent.

out of the relevant spots in that block i would rate them

1. bakersfield
2. emporio
3. condado

4. ten penny

5. sharp edge (I've only been to the Friendship and the downtown sharp edges and for some reason the downtown location struggles compared to the friendship one for food)
6. august henry's

Truthfully I think I have been there once in the last 6 months.

How many arms did the hostess have?

I’m still in the era of the Smithfield Cafe being the best downtown restaurant.

That place was a time machine. I only ate there a couple of times, but it was a worthwhile experience.

Curious how you have Bakerfield ahead of Emporio. Is it because you are obligated not to fully praise an "Italian" place but a "Mexican" place is fair game?

I enjoy them both very much but I would swap them in that ranking easily.

When I was about 16, I went to a good gyro place on Liberty (replete with hookers). That was also good.

@dodint Nah, I could go either way with that, they're both good. I would say I have had more fun at Bakersfield at the bar with friends so that probably colors my view.
