I wish I would’ve listened to you guys about Täkō. Overpriced garbage.

I really liked what I ate there but I agree, far too expensive. The tacos I guess were ok priced, at least they were large. The guac came to something like $16

Four tacos (2 shrimp and 2 carnitas), queso, and one beer came to $60 w/ tip. That's ridiculous.

Has anyone checked out Carmi's new South Side location? I want to get some chicken & waffles this weekend.

A minimum of 6 bucks per taco is insanity. Authentic tacos at Las Palmas and La Catrina are better (and cheaper) options in and around the city. For fancy **** tacos you can go to Bakersfield (greatly prefer over Tako and $4 each) or Condado (prefer the other places, but $3.50-$4.50 each) without having to drop at least $12 on two tacos designed to fuel DeShantz's ego.

Never heard of it but if they've got chicken and waffles I'm immediately interested.

I haven't had it yet but have always heard good things about their old Northside location. I've been on a search for good chicken & waffles and have come up short so far, but I have nobody to blame but myself. You can't expect good chicken & waffles at some fancy ass gastropub. I have high hopes for Carmi's. I'll keep you updated.

I thought the Vandal was good, nothing special, but I went for lunch as opposed to a full dinner.

My friend ate at the North Side location all the time. He said it is the best fried chicken he's ever eaten. And he travels a lot, and has hit the well known spots in other cities. He said it's the real deal.

I really want to try it.
