That's because people have bad taste.

I generally don't go to Burgatory because their drink prices are outrageous.

Order lemon water and drop in an airline bottle. ;)

I'm exactly the same. I won't order anything if a Yeungling bottle is $5+, I'll just get water. Their drafts all seem to be at least $1.50-$2 higher than anywhere else.

I've been enjoying the drink specials at the Primanti's waterfront. I can get two beers and a sandwich for like $16 anyday.

It's nice to finally have a convenient Primanti Bros, but man do I miss Gran Agave.

I personally do not consider the Waterfront to be suburbia. I'm personally rooting for Amazon and the gentrification of homestead, that main drag has a ton of potential. I met one of the backers for that restaurant they put there Honest Jon's. It will be interesting to see if they stick.

The last time I was in Homestead, I was at a band practice and borrowed a friend's amp and speaker cabinet.
The top speaker of the 2x15 caught on fire, while I was using it
#metal

Played a show at the 31st Street Pub the next night and left town (for good, probably) the day after.

Great memories of Homestead. :)

Waterfront is right up against the city limits. It's basically this: Image

As an east sider (living in the city you judgmental jerks), it's super convenient. The Primanti's, for example, is the same distance away, yet far easier than going to the hell that is Oakland.

The Primantis on Steubenville Pike has some of the best pizza I know of in the city. They're the only one of the franchise locations that has whatever kind of pizza oven it is - the rest have something different. The crust and the sauce are both great, not to mention the price. Tuesday and Thursday you get a large three topping pizza, salad, and pitcher of domestic beer for 18 or 19 dollars. Then you can add wings or other apps for $5 each.

Now I want to go to Blue Dust in Homestead. I don't know if they still do it, but they have a perogie night that goes well with a Pens game and some beers.

I had a sandwich from the grove city Primanits that I considerd an abomination and vowed never to patronize a suburban Primantis again. So I was extremely skeptical before trying the Waterfront one. The wings are garbage there, and out of the times i've been there, only once did I get a terrible sandwich (dry, slightly stale bread and cold fries). All other times it's been good, there's such a fine line with these sandwiches that if they aren't devoted to the craft, then you are being served a pile of ****.

well, primantis is now owned by a private equity group, so that could cause some issues down the line

I typically go to either the Robinson or Meadowlands Primanti's... Can't say I've had a bad experience at either.

This is my local place, and it’s very hit or miss.

I've never noticed any differences between Primanti's establishments, other than wait lines. The one in North Versailles...walk right in and get your food ASAP. The new one in Allison Park? Good luck finding parking. Same food though.

It's a very obscure location Mr. Roo. I lived in N. Versailles for 10 years, but didn't know it existed until 5 or so years into my residence.

I actually like Primanti's. Their pizza and fried cheese wedges are good too. I have it for lunch maybe two or three times a month. I'm not a snooty local who turns their nose up at eating places that can be touristy i.e visiting a city, visit places they are known for.

The Ferry Building here in SF is the very definition of touristy, but two of my absolute favorite food places in the whole world are there. Hog Island Oyster Co, and the Roli Roti porchetta truck. The crowds and waits are worth it.
