I'll be in Philly this weekend for a wedding. My wife's coworker says go to Jim's for Cheesesteaks. This is blasphemy right? Genos or Pats only I thought?
I used to work with a lot of people from and travel to Philly when I was at a previous job. The few times I got cheesesteaks there, it was at Jim's (seems to be the place that all of the locals recommend). From what I remember, the first few bites were really good, and then it never tasted much better than Uncle Sam's to me.
She was from Philly too, so that might explain it. What say the rest of my E PA homies?

was able to get in to the soft opening of BJs restaurant and brewhouse over the weekend at the location in mccandless crossing. food was solid, pizza was really good. had a few of the beers - amber, IPA and stout - and they were decent. i think it will do well there

Always give breweries a second chance on beers later down the road. A lot of times it just takes the brew master a few batches to really get to know the equipment and get things dialed in to where he/she wants it.

Fatheads is changing their menu today. They are doing away with their chargrilled wings dings, and will instead of whole wings that they smoke and then char. I loved the chargrilled, but I'm excited to try the new ones.

went to BJs again last night now that they are open. overall, not bad. we had a mini BBQ chicken pizza that was quite tasty. wife had jalapeno burger that was good and i had parm crusted chicken which was okay. 3 dollar amber and light beer during happy hour.

Going to the ballgame tonight. Where's a good spot to grub around PNC Park? Looking for something reasonable but also don't want garbage food. Or should we just eat inside the park?

Do not recommend the HOF club / Rivertowne place at PNC. Meh. It was air conditioned, which was the best part. Should've ate at Proper, which I didn't realize we parked RIGHT NEXT TO until we were leaving. Ugh.

Salt of the Earth is closing now. Seems like everything that Sousa touches fails.

I'm really hoping that Union Pig and Chicken hangs around.

I was thinking it had more to do with overextending himself.

I think Union Pig and Chicken is overrated.

Yeah, I like Union Pig and Chicken, but I think it's pricey for what you get.

I haven't gone to Nicky's yet (had a long wait the one time we tried to go), but I do vouch for the Smiling Banana Leaf. I was in Thailand earlier in the summer, and it tastes pretty much exactly like the better places we went there.

I just really like the fried chicken. The rest of the menu is pretty meh. The last time I had the brisket, they were using some salt and pepper rub that was gross.

Thai Cuisine is at the top of these rankings by far IMO.

Bangkok Balcony is trash

If you are ever near the Long Beach Island portion of New Jersey... Chegg(Chicken or the Egg is the proper name) is an absolute must stop to eat. They are only open like 6 months of the year, but anytime my wife and I go to jersey we have to go to Chegg. The wait can be a couple hours sometimes especially on weekends, but they are open 24/7 most of the time they are open and you can use the No Wait app to reserve a place in line then head down once it gets closer to being seated. This is by no means a fancy restaurant. It's BYOB after all, but the food is all really really good and it's fun atmosphere.
