My goodness... if any of yinz find yourself in Cleveland wanting some Mexican food, hit up momocho. It’s incredible. The margaritas are really good and the mole is killer.

I regret eating at The Central Grill Diner.

El Campesino has multiple locations?
York Buffet is now closed I believe.

Ugh. I've eaten at too many of those spots :pop:

My brother eats at the El Campesino in Robinson, and he loves Italian Village Pizza... I’ll send him this link

I didn't recognize about 80% of those 'chains.' I guess by their definition Emporio is a chain.

When we lived in Squirrel Hill proper, my wife would get pizza from Italian Village. She claimed that she preferred it to Mineo, Napolis and Aiellos, but it was clearly because they were closer and when your getting pizza to eat, it does kind of make sense to further that choice with some laziness.

Kinda surprised to see Mad Mex on that list. I worked at the one in Erie and the KM was a hound at keeping that place sanitary. Especially when raw chicken was being processed.

There is an El Campesino in Altoona, which I believe is the only one outside the greater Pgh area.

Lancaster Online does a weekly recap of inspections...they did the Primanti's in Lancaster this week:
Primanti Bros., 1659A Lititz Pike, July 10. The person in charge does not have adequate knowledge of food safety in this food facility, as evidenced by this noncompliant inspection. Whipped cream at the bar was held at ambient temperature rather than 41 F or below as required. The knob for the hot water on the handwash sink just inside the door to the food preparation area is broken off completely and cannot be operated. Soap was not available at the handwash sink at the bar.

Deeply scored cutting boards were not resurfaced or discarded as required. Old food splatter noted on the upper interior of the microwave. Food employee personal belongings (purses, backpacks and cellphones) were in the food preparation area and at the bar, even though lockers are provided. Food employee was eating in the food preparation area, as evidenced by a partially consumed sandwich on the food preparation table. An employee’s open beverage container was near the handwash sink and lemons at the wait station. Food employees preparing food were not wearing beard covers. There was no identifying label on the bottle of liquid used for pretzels. Old food residue noted on the blending spindles of the shake maker at the bar. Black-and-tan residue noted inside the ice maker and on the metal lip above the deflector plate. Outside waste-handling units had drain plug removed. Clean dish racks were stored on the floor near the dishwasher. Clean food equipment and/or utensils on the storage rack were stored wet in a manner that does not allow for draining and/or air-drying (wet nesting).

I fight this battle on a smaller scale in my house. Taking cups out of the dishwasher (the plastic character ones) and immediately stacking them in the cupboard with moisture still inside them. That, along with putting cups or glasses face down to "dry" them even though there is no way for air to get into the inside of the cup that way. It's maddening :scared:

The thing about the list is it's findings from 2012 - present. I'd like to see a better chart, like whose violations increased over that time and whose decreased.

The PAA restaurant hasn't operated in at least 3 years. Why is it even still on the list?

Just figured that upper management would be the ones passing along this upkeep, thus the other stores would be as clean.

I mean central diner was shut down completely for a period, so I'd guess (hope) their instances are from older dates.

most of the hot spots will probably be booked. i believe meat and potatoes has outdoor seating that is first come first serve. im a big fan of the commoner brunch. excellent bloody mary bar as well. bar marco in the strip has a quiet brunch that i enjoy.

Iirc someone else here was a fan of the bar Marco brunch. And I’m guessing eleven has a pretty good brunch and is very much within walking distance of the Marriott.

I don't know if Bakersfield does anything special for brunch, but in general it's pretty damn good.

Snagged a reservation there at 11. Worst case we just eat lunch.
