Was only 1 green flag pass for the lead -- was off the last restart with some 60/58 to go or roundabouts. And it was only because the 48 edged ahead at the line on the lap after the restart, only to see Truex take sole possession back on the 1st turn and never look back.

Kurt Busch wins a fuel-mileage rain-delayed Pocono today, leading the last 32 laps. Earnhardt, Keselowski and Elliott finished 2-3-4. Chase Elliott had the better car but not the best fuel mileage.

This is the first race I've watched all year and dear goodness NBC is terrible.

Local high school sports are better produced.

80 commercial breaks in the last 20 laps.

And then NASCAR takes 19 laps to clean up debris.

No wonder I quit watching this drek.

It was bad. I got home during the caution for the big one. I swear it seemed like they were out of commerical for a lap or two at most there down the stretch.

At the plate tracks, really wish they would red-flag for long incidents under 20 to go.

That and the racing was pretty lousy from what I saw. It was like the dead era was back.

And to think we have to wait until Daytona again to get back to the FOX crews.

Chase picture.... It's beginning to look like a win will be necessary this year. And that despite a strong start, the 88 is just above the bubble and if more new winners win is in great jeopardy.

Jeff Burton and the play-by-play guy were awful, Steve Letarte was decent.

Just caught up on the results from Talladega...big bummer for Truex. Really felt like this could have been his year to win it all.

The final eight are really hard to root for. I suppose I'd be OK with Johnson. Edwards too.

Call this the Kyle Busch rule. Cause that's what it is.

10 to go in the final race of the season. Edwards and Logano in a wreck. Edwards is off, but Logano is on but has minor damage on the right side.

I think Jimmie and Kurt Kyle Busch are 3rd and 4th respectively. Announcers are saying that fuel will probably be an issue for most cars.

I'm sure people will call that great, but that was really painful to watch.

I stopped watching once they went to the final four crap. The Chase was annoying but not terrible, but I cannot watch a 36 race season that comes down to sheer luck in the final race.

I feel bad for Bowman and Larson the last two weeks, domninant cars by young guys with one too many cautions ruining their day...

I'm more of a casual fan at best that watches the more popular races like Bristol and Talledega, but why does Nascar feel the need to toy with their playoff system every few years? Like Shaf was saying, the Chase wasn't terrible. I understood the concept behind it, because of Kenseth winning a championship despite winning one race for the entire season. But if the original rules were still in place, things would look a little different.

We would have:

Carl Edwards, 2x champion (2008, 2011)
Kevin Harvick, 3x champion (2010, 2015, 2016)
Jimmie Johnson, 3x champion (2006, 2009, 2013)

and there would be a 7x champion, but it wouldn't be Jimmie Johnson.
Jeff Gordon would have added three additional championships to his name in 2004, 2007, and 2014, giving him seven total.

The Joey Logano finishing 2nd three years in a row makes him the new Mark Martin.

Sprint is out as the title Cup sponsor, being replaced with Monster Energy.

I see it as going back to their Winston roots. Addictive poison, n'at.

Jay Mohr is bombing at the nascar awards show. Lots and lots of awkward laughing like "ugh".

On NBCSN.

I am listening to this in the background...holy hell is he terrible. I'm not even sure why NASCAR, a company that is ostensibly trying to get more mainstream, keeps bringing out this unfunny hack.

They cut to a close up of him after his opening. He looked like he had a few too many adult beverages.

Twitter crowd was ripping him too.

My immediate thought was Tim Richmond.
