Firecracker 100 - World of Outlaws late models at Lernerville starting now. Tonight and tomorrow night, 6,000 to win. Saturday night - $30,000 to win.
Heading up there on the 27th for the regular Fab Four and Historics static display night.

I saw some of Eldora last night. Saw the truck Points leader spin to cause the first yellow. Dirt a pretty good equalizer.

I'll likely be the only one at Lernerville tonight on a BMW cruiser motorcycle. If you happen to see us say hello. ;)

Been fun watching this Xfinity race run in the rain with rain tires.

Great moment with Chase Elliott winning his first today. He ran out of gas after the checkers and the 48 pushed him to victory lane. I've been looking for a driver to root for that isn't a constant favorite, he seems like a good candidate.

#BREAKING: NASCAR CEO Brian France charged with DUI
https://buff.ly/2M8ftOw
Article says he was "name dropping all the powerful people he knows, including Donald Trump". Also charged with Oxycodone possession.
Also, this arrest sums up Brian France's tenure as head of NASCAR. Yesterday's race got a ton of buzz in the media, was generally seen as one of the best of the year, and Chase Elliott, who could be their next Dale Earnhardt Jr., got his first win. It was undoubtedly good for a struggling organization. And that dipsht makes all of that the SECOND biggest story of the week later that night with his DUI.

He got off an earlier DUI on a technicality and rumors were rampant he was at Betty Ford in the 90s.

I so hope he's fired tomorrow and we can get rid of the godawful stage racing.

Yeah, when I read the initial story my first thought was Mayfield. Heh. Apples to Oranges but I still think it's a measure of hypocrisy.

Apparently some hillbilly got in Kyle Busch's face and shoved him after he spun out Truex at Bristol

One year after winning the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series championship, a lack of funding will force Furniture Row Racing to shutter after the 2018 season.

I know they are a one car outfit, but that is a horrible sign. If they can't survive, who can? Hell Truex has four more wins this year.

lol, on a Toyota. So good. Good unintentional commentary on the decline of NASCAR.

Good stuff
New NASCAR president Steve Phelps has a message for short track and grassroots fans ... and I paraphrase here:

"We hear you, we need to connect with you better and we want our drivers to connect with you."

Not getting my hopes up. Even the shorttrack racing in the Cup series has been pretty stale.
And it's not like they're going to bulldoze ChicagoLand and Kansas which ISC own, or force SMI to alter the 5 1.5 milers they have either.

One of the best news on this front that I've seen is the work NASCAR is doing to get the Fairgrounds track in Nashville back up and running.
