Gotta just laugh sometimes. Down now 35 lbs since Jan 1 and making sure to get at least 4 days of 20+ Mins of moderate cardio a week which is more than I really have done all of my post high school life. BP is up and doc wants to change my regimen up  hopefully just a speed bump. Keep moving forward.

Most certainly facing the consequences of my own actions. But trying to regain control and go from there.

Good stuff mac. It's a marathon not a race...little bumps will come up here and there. Just keep the course.

I'm signed up for a newsletter for one of the major tinnitus research teams based in New Zealand. Sounds like they expect FDA approval and availability in the states later this year, which would be terrific. It's effectively sound therapy through an app on your phone: https://www.truesilencetherapeutics.com/

Had a weird looking mark on my leg and was worried it may have been a blood clot. Went in for an ultrasound today and diagnosed with a varicose vein. I already have compression stockings but is there anything else I should do (other than continue to lose weight and have a healthy diet ) to combat these? Doc said I could speak to a vascular surgeon. Seems a bit...excessive? There's mild swelling there but nothing too crazy, yet.

I've had varicose veins for decades. Both my parents had them too. Two doctors said that they are mostly ugly to look at and unless there is pain or the swelling gets worse, then leave it alone.

My right foot/ankle is very purple, but not getting worse or causing pain. But listen to your doctor to get peace of mind from a specialist.

Hmph. I just assumed this was something 80 year old women dealt with

Yeah, I'll likely go see the vascular specialist. The aging process sucks.

Do you ever experience any swelling? I would get a little swollen from time to time and just chalk it up to "I ate too much salt" but maybe this was the cause

I was getting it from meds I was on. Calcium channel blockers for high blood pressure so I had to wear those compression socks. Went back to the dreaded beta blocker and the swelling went away.

Yeah, I get the ol sock line swelling. It's not a big deal, unlike the level of my father's swelling the last few years. He had horrible heart issues, which made everything worse.

See your doc about the ankle swelling or change your diet.

You're describing how it starts.

I've been wearing the compression stocking 2 days now and definitely see an improvement. I'm assuming I'll go see a vascular doc soon, just waiting on a call back from my PCP. I guess this is life now. I'm too young for this

Just keep losing weight and focus on healthy eating. :thumb: a lot of this stuff will resolve itself or lessen in severity

I was led to believe they're really bad too. I've lived through 3 of them. They aren't terrible

Yeah, they're not that bad. A little creepy hearing the scraping of the roots, but not painful.

Provided the novocaine does its job, they’re not a big deal.

I was supposed to have one but the damage was bad enough they had to extract it. Having never had a root canal, the worse option, an extraction, wasn't as bad as I thought it would be either.

Well, I didn't need a root canal. Endodontist said she knows what the dentist saw on the x-ray and he was right to have me get it checked out and it's just how my tooth grew. No issues.
