What? That’s why he got the defib, no? So he didn’t have to give up the darts
I really like being a non smoker. That after 38 years of smoking. It's a horrible addiction.

Have you tried doing the math of how much you’ve spent on cigarettes over the years?

I probably want to know that as much as you'd like to know how much fast food or alcohol you've spent money on.

Been in bed since 3pm...uncontrollably shivering, yawning, upset stomach, etc. Yet the second I try and lay still to fall asleep my feet start racing. This is awful. No puking/the other stuff (yet)

So I have some kind of insect (?) bite thing on my right temple, just in front of my ear. First noticed it over the weekend, but didn't really pay it any mind. Yesterday I noticed the gland in my neck on that side was swollen. Made a note of it, and went on with my day. Today, the gland is the size of a cherry tomato, my face is warm to the touch, there is a detectable internal connection between the bug bite and the gland (like there is a vein connecting them), and it has become somewhat uncomfortable to talk or chew.

The way this year is going I've probably got a brain-eating fungus.

Felt a cold coming on Monday night, was groggy, getting a little stuffy, little headache...slept for an uncharacteristic amount of time (9 hours) that night and woke up feeling worse...hammered Zicam along with my normal fruits and vegetables (plus some Vitamin D stuff like OJ, tuna) from Tuesday morning through this afternoon and I feel good...might have beaten another one to the punch. If I hold on, that'll be two colds I stopped in 12 hours or less in a row (counting one from late last winter)...that said, I'm about to go outside for a while, then hockey practice, then more outside time, then get 4 or 5 hours of sleep before going out in some sort of wintry mix tomorrow...so we'll see...

Went to urgent care. Apparently the 'bug bite' is just an abrasion that got infected. Going to regular doc on Friday.

I just got out of bed for the first time since yesterday at 3 PM. Have had about half a cup of water and no food since noon yesterday. Ended up taking the day off...I feel marginally better but still out of it, and my stomach is upset. Thank God I haven't been stuck in the bathroom, but this feels like a mild version of gastroenteritis or something. It sucks.

Wife is still sick today.. fever broke.. then it came back... was at like 101.8 this morning. She stayed home for the 2nd day in a row and she never calls of of work. She said as long as she keeps her eyes closed she is fine. If she opens them she wants to puke. I'm playing nurse for the day working from home, but told her to stay upstairs and far away from me haha.

Same. It's undeniable how great a job the character actors do, though.

That was a wonderful story...there was another great (and heartbreaking story) linked there, that's actually the most upvoted comment ever on Reddit (couldn't find it this morning). There's no denying the magical effect that place has on children that have been through awful sht.

Wife ended up with pneumonia. Went to urgent care after the fever didn't break in 3 days cause her work needed a doctors excuse anyways. On anti-biotics.. if it gets worse has to go to the ER. Blah.

I got a steroid shot this morning for a nagging cough/congested thing I've had for a week or so. I've never had one before, and I now I feel wired. They prescribed a daily steroid pill for a week with antibiotics to nuke this crud.
