Not a competition. I've felt the same way in the pet thread. Go in there to post a picture of my dog being derpy in the yard. Most recent post is about a person's pet passing away.

"Well, I'll file that photo away for another day"

Had a cardiologist visit today and BP was good at 113/79 but EF is still a lousy 24.

My uncle completed his first round of chemo, and his latest biopsy came back clean. They’re going to wait 1-2 more weeks, do another biopsy, and then one more round of chemo at a lower dose. All good news so far.

Over the last couple months, I've been even more clumsy than usual. Spilling drinks, tripping going up stairs, etc. Making a doctor's appointment, has me pretty spooked

Looks like the stomach bug is going around our house. My daughter threw up in her crib Friday night, and my wife was puking all night last night. Today my 5 year old was sent home with a stomach ache, tossing his breakfast right before my wife picked him up. Just me and my oldest have been spared so far, but don't expect that to last.

Ooof, that's a lousy feeling watching a stomach bug tear through one's home. Good luck.

Had a little scare last night when my daughter started coughing and crying. Same thing she did when she threw up last Friday. Luckily it was nothing. Looks like my wife and son are done with the puking phase, crossing our fingers that's the end of it.

My eldest son had all four wisdom teeth pulled this morning. That went fairly well, just a little swelling and minimal pain so far. I was miserable for a couple of weeks after getting two pulled; but I was in my mid 20s.

The surgeon's office called in three scrips for muh boy: antibiotic, 800mg motrin, and Oxycodone/Acetominophen. We use our local Walgreens, which has been a mess since they merged/bought out Rite aid several years ago, pre-COVID. We had a Rite Aid right across the street, and it closed sending all of the customers to Walgreens...which is terrible. Same size pharmacy, so they can't add a bunch of staff or extend hours much...but they get twice the customers.

Obviously, COVID has made things worse with staffing. They've been randomly shutting down for an entire day or two, for staffing issues and I think Amazon Web Services outages. They reopen and now have three days worth of scrips to fill in one day. Such as today.

So my wife goes to pick up his prescriptions, and they aren't ready, naturally. They might not be done today. And they aren't open again until Monday. A **** Walgreens. The tech offers to transfer them to another pharmacy in town, so we do that. Problem is, we can't get the Oxy/Acetominophen transferred over...because it's a controlled substance. This means a call to the oral surgeon's office...and it closes at noon on Fridays.

So Walgreens closes in 20 minutes and his drugs aren't ready. Fortunately, Motrin is handling his minor pain and we have the same oxy/acetominophen prescription from our other son's oral surgery this summer. We probably won't use it, but imagine someone who needed medicine and got stuck like this? Awful.

Last night I completed the full circle. Wife has to work today and cannot call off. Going to be a great day

Some good cancer news for once - my uncle is currently in remission. Blood work and biopsy all looked good after the last round of chemo. I think he’s still going to go through another round at a lower dose, but he’s been home since just before Christmas, and is doing better.
