It’s just a flesh wound!
Stay away from stagnant water :scared:

What sort of bandage did they give you?
Just a massive bandaid basically, covering the staples. I was expecting flat staples and such, but they basically pinch the skin and put in ring staples. It was pretty neat to see.

Had the staples removed. While I'll always have a horizontal scar, the doc did a nice job lining up the tattoo, as the vertical lines all match up still.

Mowed grass today and hit a tree limb that just absolutely covered me in some pollen. Realized about 6 o'clock I had forgotten my allergy pill (take one daily around lunch). Took it. Ever since my eye has been just dumping goop. Man I hope this is allergy related and not pink eye. But I took a drop in each eye to be safe.

Tripped on an irregular bit of sidewalk outside of Gateway Center while walking into my office. I now have a bruised elbow, bruised knee, and bandages on on both palms to cover up the bleeding road rash.

A few months ago, I read of a lawsuit against my university from someone who was visiting campus, tripped and fell over uneven sidewalks, and is trying to recover damages for injuries.

The next day, there were little yard signs up warning of uneven surfaces followed by a company coming out and grinding sidewalks to get rid of the severely uneven sidewalks. A little too late there folks

Shys-daddy should simply shoot the sidewalk with a AR-15

Wouldn't have happened if you worked from home.

I broke my ankle a couple years ago falling down my stairs while trying to carry both a garbage bag and a bin of recycling, so I'm not sure I'd be safer in my own house.

woke up at 1:45AM Thursday with horrible pain in my left side. tried for about 30 minutes to suck it up and then woke up my SO and said let's go to the ER. at some point the pain shifted and I suddenly knew what it was. yep, you got it: **** kidney stones. :face:
it's been about 10 years since the last one
2 bags of IV fluid, 1 dose of dilaudid and one dose of toradol later and I was feeling better. still having some pain so not sure if I passed it or not.
CT showed a 4mm stone so I'm assuming anything causing pain is a smaller one.
my best guess for why they're back? I like to drink Gatorade G2 during workouts and after hockey. it's been hard to find recently so I switched to Gatorade Zero. I believe the sweetener in the zero drinks reacts with one of the meds I take causing crystallization.

Last night, I dropped a very sharp chef's knife and made the cardinal mistake of quickly reaching down to grab it. My hand was fine, but the knife went oh so perfectly into my thigh when I grabbed the hilt and the momentum kept going. I was able to sit down and put pressure, and it did clot. But when I got up an hour later to go upstairs, it was legit pumping down my leg. Like, for the first time in my life, the legit possibility that I might not survive crossed my mind. (I was not thinking rationally at this point but it was a lot of blood )

Was able to drive 30 minutes to the closest ER at 1030 last night, got home at 530 this morning. Had my first ever CT scan so that was fun. Thankfully I narrowly missed an artery... Wife stayed home to clean up blood and stay with the kids.

I'm not missing Bronx Tale tonight, thankfully.

That was a very humbling experience in many ways.

Also strangely enough.... Virtually no pain. The nurse actually thought that me keeping my knives constantly sharpened may have made it a much cleaner wound. And thankfully I had just pulled it out of the block.

Did get my first tetanus shot in 15 years.

Must be something in the air. I had to get a tetanus shot Thursday after stepping on a rusty tack. Went through my sneaker and into my heel. Just barely broke the skin, but since it was rusty and buried in the dirt, I figured it wasn't worth the risk.

I was going to make an appointment to go have my stitches removed, but it healed perfectly with no pain, swelling, etc. It took me about one minute yesterday (plus 15 minutes of tweezer/scissor sterilization) to quickly take them out at home.

We have fine insurance, just didn't think it was necessary to spend two hours at urgent care. About as simple as it gets.

They've actually studied that as a viable way to cut down on ER visits. Obviously, some stitches need a doctor to remove.
