Do I have ghosts in my blood? Should I do cocaine about it?

Put some full strength Anbesol on it to numb it and it will be gone in a couple days.

Blackjack's Thread of Illness and Ailments

Had a heart attack in early July while cutting the grass. A passerby saw me go down and started cpr and called 911. I flat lined three times before getting to the hospital and by then I was in cardiac arrest, had gone a long time w/o oxygen to my brain, and couldn't breathe so they had to put me on a ventilator, feeding tubes, etc. There I sat with no brain activity for ten days and the end of life support people were preparing my family for having to pull the plug. At some point they lowered my body temperature to 90 degrees to "save" my brain and when I "woke" up after those ten days I slowly regained consciousness over a period of days. At first I couldn't remember the last five years but all memories outside of the week or two leading up the incident came back to me. I'm very lucky to be alive.

Thanks, yeah it was terrifying for my family who were all assembled here. @columbia said he shed many a tear at my bedside. I had 100% blockage in one of my main arteries and they put in a stent in so I'm good for now. I did falll on my shoulder and ripped some nerves there but there is hope those they will grow back so I can raise my right arm once again.

Holy hell...glad you're all right and that you're back functioning enough to post about Manassas' man asses on a hockey forum...

Seriously, glad you pulled through...that's insane. I hope you get enough memory back to tell us what the afterlife is like...I'm young enough to convert to a religion and have it still probably count, in fact, I got about 25 minutes to decide on being Jewish and getting out of work tomorrow...

The good news is that you woke up. The bad news is that Trump is still President.

Sadly, I didn't experience anything like that. It's like a month of life is missing.

I'm so relieved for you... I take it you were at LGH? So happy you were able to pull through. I know you have two girls so I'm sure they were a mess too. We are so glad to have you back.

Thanks and yes, the ICU and the the cardiac ward in the city and then the neuro rehab hospital by the main LGH campus for a week. That company owns everything now. Luckily I have good insurance and quickly hit my 3K out of pocket max. That was probably part of one day in the ICU.
