Blackjack's Thread of Illness and Ailments

Postby dodint » Wed Sep 30, 2020 8:20 pm

My wife has been trying to keep on track with her PTA program which is in a clinicals semester. Her cancer treatment left her immunocompromised until sometime after the new year.

She contracted Shingles from an asymptomatic patient at her PT site.

Thank you, 2020. Well done. Did not see that coming.

From most of us. Don't want her catching what some here may have...

But seriously, hope she gets better quickly.

Well I have mild sleep apnea. No surprise there really. I wonder what a full night's sleep actually feels like.

Doh, forgot about this. Thanks for the kind words. The wife's treatment took really well and she's basically asymptomatic once this topical inflammation goes away. She just has to be careful for another six weeks and then she should be clear of it.

At least it wasn't the flu, amirite?

Remember back in June when I smashed my foot into the kitchen island in a botched attempt at comedy? Still haven't regained full mobility, and blood flow in the foot is janky (foot is constantly ice cold), so I went to ye olde orthopedic doctor. Confirmed: 2 fractures on the pinky toe, 1 fracture of the ring finger toe, and 1 fracture of the metatarsal behind the ring finger toe. Bones are fully healed, so my lingering impairment is down to side effects of inflammation. Ya-hoo.

What kind of idiot schedules a dental procedure (crown) on a Friday at 8am?

I'd do something like that, provided I had the rest of the day off. Long weekend, baby.

I’m more shocked you found a dentist that does procedures on Fridays.

Hahah same here. One thing I've gotten to learn after talking to a lot of dentists over the last 3+ years... Working Fridays is like sacrilege in this industry.
