Blackjack's Thread of Illness and Ailments
I either have a tooth/sinus infection, or need a root canal. The dentist didn’t see anything in the x-ray, and tapping on the teeth doesn’t cause any pain. It sucks that I basically have to just deal with it for 2-3 days before making a decision on whether or not to see an endodontist about a root canal. Given that the pain is so severe that I almost double over, I don’t even care what needs to be done so long that it is done.

have you tried Tylenol for it? tooth pain is the only thing that Tylenol helps with for me.

Tylenol has no effect, and neither does Ibuprofen. Toothache meds with benzocaine help slightly for a short period of time. I've been on antibiotics since Saturday morning and right now pain is a 30 out of 10, so I'll be calling the endodontist the second their office opens this morning.

Youngest son sprained the **** out of his ankle on a friend's trampoline. We thought it might be broken again, but fortunately, it wasn't.
It's the same foot/ankle he's broken bones in, and sprained it last year. So back to the orthopedist for a consult to make sure there isn't anything structurally wrong with his ankle/foot. The $300 ortho boot we got for him in 2017 for the broken metatarsals is on its third tour of duty. It will need a new sole, as it's worn right to the nylon footbed. At least we got our money's worth out of it.

Yep, and why we don't own one. Lot of good that did.

The earliest appointment I could make for an endodontist is Thursday morning, so this should be a fun week. On a related note, I found one “emergency dentist”. In order to make an appointment, though, I’d have to call during business hours. lol, wut?

I've taken a clairtin every day for the past like 2 years. I ran out recently and haven't gotten to the store yet. I have sneezed non stop for the last day

That drug needs to be taken daily to be effective from what I remember.I've taken a clairtin every day for the past like 2 years.

Yeah, I'm allergic to everything. I just need it to feel remotely normal.

@NTP66 - I'll be interested to hear what the endo says. I would think if you needed a root canal, the biting down would hurt. Just my 2 cents as a 4 time root canal vet. If they say you don't need one - what's the next step? ENT?

I've had a few root canals the past, but don't recall what they felt like before I had them done. This has gone from extreme pain around the rear molars to still some pain there, but absolutely excruciating sensitivity pain in my front tooth. I called my normal dentist to ask about pain meds because Ibuprofen and Tylenol are worthless, and they're having me come in this afternoon to drain the front tooth. Still keeping my endo appointment for Thursday, because I want them to scan that entire side of my mouth to see what's.@NTP66 - I'll be interested to hear what the endo says. $300??? is it some kind of specialty boot? my podiatrist had me wear a walking boot a few years ago to help me get rid of some achilles tendinitis. he told me straight up, I can give you one and it'll hit your insurance for $250 or you can get the same exact one off of amazon for less than $50. no brainer.Youngest son sprained the **** out of his ankle on a friend's trampoline. Are you also taking a decongestant in case it is a sinus infection? Kind of surprised the dentist didn't get you on ABX as a precautionary in the meantime. Hope you get some answers soon - tooth pain is downright awful.

I've been on amoxicillin since Saturday morning, but I swear this is just getting worse. I took some nasal decongestants last night and will be taking more in 30 minutes.

Oops - I missed that part. Glad you're on them - was worried some kind of infection (either tooth OR sinus) was going untreated which is no bueno. Anxious to hear how it goes. Maybe you'll luck out and then endo will have a cancellation before Thurs?

Honestly, I can almost deal with the back tooth pain for now. It's the front tooth that is now wanting me to be put into a coma until then.

It was specially fitted for him, and our insurance covered the $300. Good to know about the Amazon ones though.$300??? is it some kind of specialty boot? my podiatrist had me wear a walking boot a few years ago to help me get rid of some achilles tendinitis. he told me straight up, I can give you one and it'll hit your insurance for $250 or you can get the same exact one off of amazon for less than $50. no brainer.Youngest son sprained the **** out of his ankle on a friend's trampoline. I've got to take him to the pediatric orthopedist tomorrow for a "fit-in" appointment, which means we'll be there all day long, as he's the only such doctor in our area. At least I'll get some reading done.

My normal dentist performed a root canal on that front tooth, and said the nerves were basically dead (didn't bleed much at all). Everything was fine until towards the end when I felt a lot of pressure while she was doing something. The pressure remains an hour later and I think I may actually feel worse than before. And again only told to use ibuprofen and Tylenol.Oops - I missed that part. Glad you're on them - was worried some kind of infection (either tooth OR sinus) was going untreated which is no bueno. Huh. I didn't know a regular dentist could do a root canal. So she didn't seem concerned that the pressure feeling was there? Jesus H. Thursday can't come soon enough for you.

She said it's normal, but who the **** knows. The endo I'm seeing on Thursday has some fancy 3D scanner, and I intend to have them take pictures of the entire left side of my mouth. I'm also assuming that I'll wind up having multiple appointments to resolve these issues.
