We were doing yardwork yesterday and my wife found the large garden shears/loppers in the garage. She has seemed to have found her new calling in life and went around trimming a bunch of trees on the edge of our property.

When I asked her what she intended to do with all the clippings/branches she cut down and that had piled up she told me she thought I would take care of that haha.

Haha.

On another note. We have made our front and back yards look pretty nice. Especially compared to what they looked like when we bought the house. I've reseeded, we've added borders/edging, planted new plants etc.

Last week my wife noticed that the neighbors across the street have added some hanging plants to their front porch. My wife couldn't let it stand that the neighbors one upped us so off we went to get 4 hanging plants and 4 yard hooks to hang them off of across our front yard.

I've been weedwhacking for this older lady now for about 2 months, a creekbed and hillside. I told her $50 and I was going to do it every 2 weeks. The first time I did it, she added a bunch of little trimming work that I didn't really bother to complain about. The next time, she added even more and she asked me to wait 3.5 weeks to do it again. This morning I did it and it took me almost 2x as long to do it, because it is higher now and there is more to do. I told her next time if this is the case the price will go to $70 because of the additional time (it was about 50 minutes up to an hour and 45). She got mad at me. I know it may seem expensive but that's my price. It's what I value my time at. If she doesn't like it she's welcome to shop around. And she needs to realize you can't change input factors after a price is agreed upon. Meowshrug

Lesson learned this week: $10 price difference per 50’ roll is more than worth it to get the premium grade landscaping fabric. So much easier to work with and some weeds: especially thistles, can penetrate the cheap stuff.

The fruit from our squash plants tripled in size in one week. They went from 'potentially quite delicious' to 'sort of inedible'.

Harvested 10-12 blossoms two weekends ago, and I went back out to the bed on this past Sunday and the squash were all the size of my friction' arm.

Our peach blossoms got destroyed by the late frost and we got none this year. Last year we had so many that branches were breaking.

You should thin them and harvest larger peaches.
