Does anyone have an edger they recommend for redoing mulch beds?

The echo BRD is great for this but it's $$$. Luckily my brother in law has one for his business he let's me borrow.

Does that work in clay? I have something similar but it gets like 4 linear feet and gets clogged

A BRD-280 would probably chew through concrete. It's a BAMF.

It feels really good to fix something yourself. My dad bought a John deere L108 to mow with (he has a lil side hustle going) and called me a few weeks later. Puking oil into the exhaust and smoking terribly. I diagnosed as a blown valve head gasket. Tore it down watching YouTube videos. Apart in 5 and back together in 15 minutes. So cool. But still wouldn't start. Found out that (duh) a 4 stroke motor has two top-dead-center (TDC) strokes and I was on the wrong one. HT to mower Mike, bucks small engine, and taryl fixes all YT channels. An $11 gasket and $13 push rod (since I didn't follow the proper steps on a valve adjustment..) and he's back in business.

I fixed a mower last year for my Dad and felt like a champ. Good stuff.

Luckily the guy only hit him up for $300. He was about to buy brand new. He mows like 7 lawns a week and makes about $400 so it's worth it for him to buy a new one, but he'd be working for free paying for new all year. I talked him into the old used one so I felt obligated to help

I have a couple of spots where we had our driveway replaced last year that didn't fully grow in with grass so I put down some new seed a few weeks ago to fill in those spots.

It would be real helpful if the damn birds in our yard would leave that grass seed alone. Even after putting a layer of mulch over top they still pick at the seed and make a mess.

Bird tape and maybe a few plastic owls?

Just stand in front of the seed and stare at the birds.

I think they are mad at us because last year they used the upper corner of our back porchs as a nest. Since they already had it built and eggs laid we let it stay there till all the birds hatched and flew away. After that we sealed those corners up so they couldn't rebuild it this year.

I think the birds took that as a sign of war or something and now are messing with my grass as a result haha.

We have two dead outdoor speakers mounted to the rear wall of our house under the eaves and gutter. We've had finch nests behind each for each of the four springs we've been here. Mrs Tif quite likes it when we get little 'cheeps'. First batch of the year have hatched, grown, and flown. It'll be a month or so before new eggs appear.

People yesterday discovered a rabbit nest with little bunnies next to our house when they were doing topsoil and fixing up the yard with construction being over.

@shafnutz05 - I need to borrow your dog so I don't have a patch of land that doesn't get raked and seeded.

i found a very unique green japanese maple that i had to purchase on site. its beautiful

Picked up an echo battery DPAS last week. What a huge difference around the house. also grabbed a hedge trimmer and edger attachment. Planning on getting after it this weekend. These things are very nice, I'm pleasantly surprised

Just bought a battery powered lawnmower... I guess we shall see how it goes.

I've been toying with the idea for a while, but finally pulled the trigger since I had some gift cards and coupon codes to use.

I cut my in-laws grass as well, and their lawnmower bit it recently, and I'm tired of lugging my heavy ass gas powered toro back and forth between our house and theirs. Now I'll just leave the toro at their house to cut their grass and use the new mower at our house (assuming it works like how I hope it does.)

Push (self propelled). Neither my yard nor my in-laws yard is big enough for a rider haha.

I'm already heavily invested into the Ryobi eco-system with having a trimmer, leaf blower, nail gun, and a drill etc...so hopefully I have as good of luck with the lawnmower as I do with their other stuff.

I enjoy the exercise of the push lawn mower, but believe me if I thought we could use a rider I would get one.

One of my fondest childhood memories was cutting grass with my grandfather on his huge ass manual shift tractor. That thing still works to this day, but sadly just sits in his garage after he passed away.

I mow mine and my elderly neighbors lawn. Could easily do a rider, but I really value that 2 hours a week pushing the mower all to myself. It's almost like therapy for me. Roll up a jibber, put on some tunes and zone out. It's good for the soul

My brother in law found a ryobi blower with a 40v battery attached to it along side the road. nice score.

First cut with the Ryobi. Pretty impressed. Got almost the entire front/back/side yard done on one battery. Had to swap out at the very end.

Very quiet, much lighter and easier to move around and the mulching quality was really good. May try to bag next time but I usually mulch and it went very well.

We get at least one a year somewhere in our yard. This time it was under our weeping cherry in front. I try to keep aware because one year I mowed over it and it was total bunny carnage.

My wife always wants them removed because they can be a nuisance but damn are those little guys adorable.

Decent weekend for getting outdoors work done. I pulled out the burn can and burned up about 1/3 or so of my giant stick pile. I installed a new blade on my mower and replaced one of its wheels, which broke a couple years back and still worked, but was all wobbly. Also lubed my garage door and the guts of my garage-door opener, which I found out years ago must be kept greased or the plastic gears eat each other and turn into plastic snow.
