Looks like mowing season starts tomorrow for me.

My lawn was ripped up/top soiled yesterday. Going to be a while before I cut the back yard. Front yard could use a trim, but I'm in no rush

No chance I can get my mower on the yard before maybe Friday. Still have at least a half inch of standing water on it.

On second look if it doesn't rain anymore it should be dried out enough by tomorrow late evening, so I'll try for it then.

The kangaroo’s yard was just dry enough to get a much needed cut today. Very pleased

We’ve been using naturalawn care for a few years with good results. They came on Saturday AM I assume because of the dumpy weather we’ve had. About 4 hours later we were in the grass and both kids had pretty bad topical reactions to being in the grass. Will likely cancel unfortunately

I just covered my bleeding heart plants, which were already in bloom. If it gets as cold as they're saying, I'm not even sure that'll help. No idea how it's going to affect my hosta, clematis, etc. Probably ruin the buds on my dogwood trees too.

Stupid, crappy Somerset weather.

Hostas are damn tough.

Yeah, I'm sure the plants will live. A few have a bunch of leaves up though so I'm hoping the foliage isn't destroyed and I have to wait another month for them to look normal-ish. My property is so heavily wooded that hostas are one of the few plants that thrive and I must have 30+.

Hostas survive anything.

I happened to be mowing the lawn at the same time as the company who does my neighbor’s lawn, and the owner stopped by just to tell me that he thought my lawn looked great. No sales pitch or anything, just wanted to compliment me on my work. Felt good, man.

Fresh cut grass lines and playoff signs are the best.

victory garden is coming along nicely. got a green japense maple that was very unique (and extraordinarily expensive) and also a columnar magnolia shrub 'daybreak' in addition to a spiral boxwood and some other odds and ends

Saw this absolute masterpiece at a local home and garden center yesterday. If not for the price, I’d have been taking it home.

Over 5’ tall, and even longer. $2500, though, and the neighbors didn’t bite on my “we should all go in on this and put him on random lawns every week” idea.

$2500 is steep...I'd throw down a grand or so on that without thinking twice (or asking my wife) lol.

If she didn't want it in the lawn is throw it in the mancsve by the Jurassic Park poster.

For $1k, it’d have gone home with me, no question about it. I could easily justify it as a 10 year investment where I don’t buy other holiday decorations. This could be universal. Christmas? Throw a Santa cap on it. Halloween? Nothing required. President’s day? President mask on its mouth.

You could buy it and never cut the grass again in order to recreate the tall grass scene from Lost World.

Hell yeah I could. I have a flowering bush in the corner of my back yard that I could hide this guy next to in order to freak out my neighbors.
