Good to know. We'll just plant white crocuses in their place.Be aware that snowdrops will multiply and become borderline invasive.

My yard is by no means big enough for a riding mower but god damn, being out of shape for the winter plus pushing that thing thru the grass that grew a week longer than it should have due to going away for Easter and a week straight of rain… I need a nap.

We had two locust trees taken down last month. I finally got around to moving all the wood chips from the stump grindings to various parts of the yard. Only got one tree’s worth done but I also need a nap

Ha, I spent the day unloading a truck load of cut cherry and splitting, stacking it for campfire wood. Only 47 days until memorial day weekend gents.

Anyone here ever plant pachysandra? I have a grass section by our driveway I want to fill in. Gotta figure out how much to buy.

My mom planted pachysandra and it spilled out of the flower bed into the lawn. It also didn't completely prevent weeds from growing along with it.

Yep. Plus chipmunks hide in it as do dog/kid toys
When I ripped it out (which was hell on earth and took 3 years to fully eradicate) I found enough tennis balls to host the US open

Somebody mentioned it in another thread, but holy hell was the first mow of the season rough. I am **** wiped.

I was able to finish about 3 beers for my first mow of the season. Twas glorious.
Also my almost 6 year old ran the push mower for a bit under very close supervision. I don't wanna discourage him but I also don't feel like following him around all the time either lol

I was a little dismissive of the "first mow wiped me out" posts above, but I just finished my first mow, and holy crap am I wiped out. I actually had to stop about 3/4 of the way through and sit down for a couple minutes. I didn't even mow the whole lawn; about half of my back yard and the side yard on the shady side of the house were both still wet to fully mow. At least I got all of the most-visible parts done.
The grass was really high and even the drier parts of the yard were pretty soft, so I think that's why it seemed so hard to push. My mower also isn't self-propelled.

Mine is, allegedly, but if the grass isn’t bone dry which, obviously, it hasn’t been yet this year, the drive mechanism clogs and may actually make it more difficult to push.My mower also isn't self-propelled.

Did one of yinz use online landscaping design software? I remember someone somewhere (which means here or reddit) using software that pulled in Google Earth data that allowed you to map out landscaping plans, using sun info, local vs. native plants, etc. Does this sound familiar?

I don't know if I'd say it sounds 'familiar' as much as I'd say it sounds 'excellent'.
We have a really nice landscaping plan at our house, but I'd like to redo it with native drought tolerant plants at some point.

It’s gorgeous outside, so I just spent the last 3 hours pressure washing the house, fence and garage. Wife bought me lemon scented Simple Green, and man is that much more pleasant than the normal stuff. Gonna pressure wash the patio either tomorrow or next weekend, whenever it’s sunny out.

I got some Zep concrete cleaner. That may be tomorrow's project. Today was opening day of teeball and I had to mow and trim.
