Does anyone have any lawn care company recommendations? I was just looking for weed treatment and to make my grass greener. I have heard mixed reviews about trugreen.

I"m with Trugreen. I can't say I'm thrilled with their service but I tried dropping them for a year and ended up with weeds everywhere. I have an "old" lawn though so I probably have too high expectations.

Trugreen seemed expensive - $1000 for a year - and didn’t show any results for us. The app is nice, but it shows when he arrived at our house and when he finished. He usually was there under 20 minutes, for 2/3 of an acre of lawn. Uh, sure buddy.
I looked up fertilization and herbicide information via a state university agriculture extension service (Clemson for me, maybe Penn State?) to find out what to use and when for our centipede grass, and for less than $100 have had better results. Might need to get your soil tested too.

are any of these fine to do with pets? I've been hesitant to go with a company that's going to spray my whole lawn, so I do the manual spreader on half of the yard then do the other half the next week so the dog has a place to go potty.

Speaking of, I believe I'll have to break out the mower for the first time this season later this afternoon. Actually looking forward to it.

Just follow my lead. Moss, dirt and weeds don't grow as fast as grass. Skip the lawn treatment and save yourself $1000/year and less mowing

Yep. I've mowed three times already. Sprayed for weeds. Planted new seed that was doing good. Hopefully the freezes we had last night and are expecting tonight won't kill it all.I've mowed twice and almost need to again. My grass grows fast af

I'm a big fan of doing things myself that I can.Does anyone have any lawn care company recommendations? I was just looking for weed treatment and to make my grass greener. I have heard mixed reviews about trugreen.
You can get a soil test from Penn State. https://extension.psu.edu/soil-testing
It will tell you what you're deficient in.
Dethatch, overseed, fertilize, aerate. It's more than just dumping chemicals at first.
Tons of Youtube channels to give you advice also.

Should my hostas have began to grow yet? They havent, and I'm just wondering.

11-52-0 fertilizer really got my yard going like wildfire last year. Had to spread it during a rainstorm, though, so it wouldn't burn off what I did have. Then I went with 11-27-6 this year, and will weed-n-feed here in another week or two (after my overseeding from late March has time to fully germinate)

I planted about 5 last year from my parent's that I split, so I thought maybe they were donezo. Though I read that hostas will survive a nuclear apocalypse too, so I figured I shouldn't be worrying yet.mine haven'tShould my hostas have began to grow yet? They havent, and I'm just wondering.
