Must have a riding mower?
Nope a normal push mower. I don't have like 3 acres to mow or anything. My in-laws yard is bigger than ours, but mostly flat. I can cut our front and back in about 45 minutes to an hour, my in-laws probably takes about 90 minutes with the push mower.

Anybody have a good recommendation for getting rid of poison ivy plants? I have some growing near my shed that I would like to get rid of. I am highly reactive to it, so I have already gotten it twice this year.

Just finished mowing, since 88 is better than 92+. JFC, I hate this.

I hate mowing. First off, I spend 30 minutes picking up small branches that have fallen from my birch and willow trees. Then I'm weaving in and out of the other 25 trees on my property so I barely have any straight, up and back runs. There's also a small hill on one side of the house that is a pain to mow.

I mulch any branch in my way unless it's a huge mofo.

It's more quantity than it is size (twss). I'd need my blades sharpened after every cut.

We are on about a half acre that is all lawn so a riding mower is pretty much a requirement. It takes me about 35-40 minutes (10 more if I trim beforehand), and even on a riding mower it's miserable but nowhere near as bad as walking.

We have an acre. I write a check for $120 every two weeks.

That's me half of the time, too, with our dwarf chestnut. I actually trimmed off any dead branch last summer and early this spring, which has drastically cut down on the branches that have fallen down in storms.

Glyphosate/Roundup an option?

I had our arborist quote trimming all our trees and it was something like $1200. Cheapskate is now wishing he forked up the money

Perhaps, but it wasn't like they were taking down trees. We had somebody else take out several trees for $700 a few years ago. The issue at the time was we were doing a bunch of other maintenance on our house and had to cut this as it wasn't really necessary and we already blew our budget.

We paid our lawn care company about $600 to trim back some bushes one summer. The next year I ended up pulling them all out with a chain and my van. Lame.

I got 3 quotes last year to cut down 3 large trees, trim a bunch of others and bushes, and grind a few stumps.

$12k
$8k
$3200

I went with the $3200

Ortho has a spray that is specifically for poison ivy that I've used. It's worked well so far, but I've read you may need to apply it multiple times

Looks like a wandering Jew. I don't know if that's the "real" name though.

Looks like a small leaf spiderwort. Aka, wandering Jew.

Pretty common house plant.

KTK is going to tell me it's some sort of mental phenomenon or something but I swear I'm hearing crickets like crazy the past week or two

12 quarts of homemade spaghetti sauce put up. I have tomatoes for at least 24 more too. May thrown in a batch of pizza sauce as well.
