this may be a stupid question but is there an easy fix to a hose bib that goes crazy squirting water out when attaching a hose?

You probably require a new hose gasket. Try that before getting a new hose/bib.

Something straight up eviscerated two of my beds. Cut down my canteloupe and cucumber plants, clean off about an inch out of the soil. Not torn or shredded, cuts looked clean like a weedwacker. Never seen anything like this, no tracks in the dirt.
Much sad.

Most likely deer. I had two Tiger Lillies disappear under similar circumstances. They were clean bites.

Yeah, my backyard faces a small patch of woods and we have deer run through our upper yard all the time. But this bed was built into a retaining wall next to a 7ft fence down by the house. Generally the deer stay out of the yard because of the hindrance of the fence and the presence of my dog. I've never seen deer or deer tracks in the lower yard.
Also weird that it left the other 6 beds completely untouched.
I was weed trimming yesterday and the cuts are so thorough and neat I was literally wondering if I had blacked out and went nuts on the beds or something, but I specifically remember doing that area and know I didn't do inside the beds. The cantaloupe was gone but the cukes were cut at the base and left there.
We're going to try and replace the cukes at least but it sucks that we have a bed that will yield nothing this year.

That last sentence in your post was even more confusing for me because I combined "cukes" and "sucks" in my brain to see "cucks" and was wondering what in the hell talk of that was doing in the gardening thread.Fantastic.

The most recent wind storm did another number on my pine tree. I pulled a 15’ branch that had fallen most of the way down, cut it up, and threw it in the trash. Would have sucked to get hit by that thing while mowing.

That's interesting, because I had a bunny eat some weeds (and only weeds) out of one of my partially cleaned flower beds. Very helpful tbqh.

Japanese Beatles can die of gonorrhea and rot in hell. I fill a bag of them each day and they smell like **** for the next six days until the trash comes.
