Oh man. Nostalgia right there. He was one of my favorite defensive players.Deshea Townsend was generously listed at 5'10" and grew into a damn good cornerback for the Steelers. In general there seems to be a fair amount of CBs in the 5'9 to 5'10 range in the NFL. Golson is fast, quick, an aggressive tackler, and showed fantastic ball skills in college. If those ball skills transfer to the NFL he'll be a solid corner and his height won't really matter.
Golson did not play an NFL snap anywhere, IIRC. He was a guy I was so excited about when the Steelers drafted him. A true ballhawking CB that was a truly gifted athlete (he was drafted by the Boston Red Sox as well). It sucks that he couldn't stay healthy enough to get a shot.Did he even play a snap for the Steelers?
