Randy is fond of telling the story (as he recently did on The Professor Of Rock) that the piano part to "Takin' Care Of Business" was played by a pizza delivery guy, who parlayed this entry into showbiz by ultimately becoming Bette Midler's musical director and wokring with the L.A. Philharmonic. The story is apparently quite the load of bullshit, but he likes to keep, you know, spreading the good news.

Bringing things full circle, Randy also likes to claim that Elvis got inspo for "Taking Care Of Business In A Flash" from the song, but His Highness had been calling his backup group the TCB Band for like 3 or 4 years before the song came out.

Odjick developed a heart condition in 2014 called amyloidosis, a rare condition that produces protein deposits in the heart. The initial bout nearly killed him.

But Odjick fought back with the help of some first-class medical care.

He had two further bouts with the disease, most recently last year, which required him to go through chemotherapy, which led to him gaining weight and retaining water.

He developed an infection in his leg, which required bandages as part of his treatment.

“I watched him go through his heart stuff before, three times before and he came through.”
RIP big guy. Sounds like he had a real rough go of it for the better part of a decade.
