Decastro and Pouncey stunk. Dotson and Turner at guard could be upgrades over Decastro and Feiler. Whoever at center could end up playing better than Pouncey. Banner and Chuks should be better than Chuks and Villanueva. Also a non-dumbass OC and new OL coach should theoretically use the personnel a little better
I'll be interested to see how this all shakes out. When they were good last year, Ben was able to dink and dunk for first downs, then occasionally take the top off to Claypoole. It kept Ds honest. As the year went on, the deep shots were gone and the D was setting up shop within 15 yards of the LOS. I remember thinking that it was Ben's aged and broken arm that was the issue, but I also remember him planting his leg after 5 step drops and someone on the D was already home.
We'll see if the line is better...but we'll also see if potential upgrades at RB and TE help a bit too. Obviously, if Ben's arm is completely shot then it won't really matter...but I think he's got one more year in him of being reasonably good.
