Mine might have been a McDonald's in Toronto. I was in elementary school at the time though.

Shitshow at the Louvre. Macron decided to make a visit this morning and the museum didn't open to all guests until 2. People standing in line with tickets for 9 AM being told to come back tomorrow.

It's fine the French love Macron so I'm sure everybody was thrilled he was there.

First meal outside the US was at a BK somewhere north of Toronto. We were on the way to a fishing trip at Lake Nippising and that was right around lunch time.
That was actually probably the best meal I had on that trip sadly as we were in the middle of nowhere and although my dad can cook, they went ultra cheap on all of the food for some reason for that trip.
The following time my chef uncle came along and we ate quite good all week, including waking up to breakfast buffets every morning.

Why on earth are you people visiting American chains outside of the country?

It was the closest food option to the hotel (aside from the overpriced hotel restaurant itself). Wanted some quick eats, and my travel companion/coworker wasn't in the mood to naff about after a 14+hr travel day.
Mrs Tif had Popeyes at the airport in Hanoi, and I still give her grief about it. But at lot of those places have country-specific options that I think would be fun to try if I got the chance again, especially in Japan.

My only memory of international fast food was my wife being furious that Tim Horton's in Toronto was out of soup at 11am.
She still hates that company because of that.

Wouldn't eating Tim Hortons in Canada be eating fast food internationally since it's a Canadian based company?

I wouldn’t eat at a fast food spot for a real meal while traveling internationally (if I can avoid it)…..but walking the streets of a foreign city late at night after partying….sometimes the only option is a McDonalds, KFC, or Pizza Hut. Grabbing a quick order of nuggets at 2am hits the spot when you’re desperate.
I happened upon a Shakey’s Pizza in Tokyo. I didn’t go in but in the window they were advertising some sort of pizza with corn all over it. It looked so bad. I hadn’t seen a Shakey’s in 20 years.
Funny story…one time I was eating a late night KFC in Amsterdam. A homeless guy comes in off the street, walks up to our table, literally rummages through the fried chicken on my tray to find the best piece of chicken, picks it up, starts eating it, and walks off with it. Nobody said a word. We just watched. I was too stunned to react.

I could see that. If / when I get back to Japan I'd like to get McEbi from McDonald's. Like a Filet-o-Fish but the patty is made of minced shrimp rather than fish. Plus they have soy-sauce and teriyaki versions of the Quarter Pounder.

your DOT handles driver's licenses? weird, no wonder transplants ask me about how hard it is to get a DL appt. I work for GaDOT. we handle roads and bridges, stuff like that. we leave the driver's license stuff to DDS, Department of Drivers Services.Re: REAL IDs in PA:
