In 1954, White hosted her own daily talk and variety show called The Betty White Show on NBC. Creatively, she hired a female director for her program and the first African-American series regular on a talk/variety show in Arthur Duncan. White included Duncan on her program for his vocal and dancing talents.

When the network expanded the show nationally, local southern affiliates threatened to boycott unless Duncan was removed. White responded, "I'm sorry. Live with it" giving Duncan more airtime. Unfortunately, NBC frequently changed timeslots for her show resulting in sagging ratings and cancellation at the end of the year.
Legend.

What's extra s**t about something like this is I subscribe to NYT, LAT, and WaPo, plus a local TV station's news feed. So I'm bombarded with notifications that Betty White is dead at 99.

Is it wrong that the first thing I thought when I saw that "Betty White's turns 100" article the other day was that they just ensured her death before then?

Dan Reeves was a good football man. RIP.

Been a tough year for classic NFL coaches... Schottenheimer is another one.

Sorry, I've been slacking. Was in Florida for the holidays and didn't have my laptop.

I still haven't ran the results from last year, which was unusually quiet even with COVID.

Controversial French TV stars and famous twins Igor and Grichka Bogdanoff were inseparable in life, and in death. They had refused to be vaccinated against the coronavirus, believing their good health would save them, but were admitted to a hospital on the same day last month and diagnosed with COVID-19.
They both died of COVID and didn't have their shots. One died on 12/28/21 and the other on 1/3/22.

Should have put a "bad plastic surgery" warning on that.
